Main differenice between Swahy and Brig?

Have reviewed some threads and seems to be more about who is better. Really want to know main difference?

It seems from reading it is - Swashy gets better AOE and Brig gets bigger single target debuff?

Do Brigs get the hate transfer as Swahsy?

Brigand: Defensive Debuffs
Swashbuckler: Offensive Debuffs

Yes, Swashbuckler have more AOE DPS, and Brigand have better debuffs.

No, they don't get a hate transfer.

Thanks for promt reply. Still new and wondering for someone with sparadic play time and the lack of lowe level groups at times which class does better in solo department?

Which seems to shine and more welcomed in groups?

Brigand to both questions.

Both are still great, and welcomed in to a group, but Brigand have a slight edge over Swashbuckler, in my opinion.

umm.. there is no real edge. It all depends on the group setup and the zone you're about to visit. But like you said, both are welcomed..

Brigand's debuffs actually work and are effective, not so much for the swashy debuffs. So they get shafted on that part.

As for DPS, depends on fight, and skill, but the general rule of thumb is Brig = single target, swashy = aoe.

Very dependant on the player our Brigand usually rings in Second on the parse I am usually first as a Swash. Most fights there is only a couple hundred dps between, But encounter mobs or Chain pulls I can leave them all in the dust.

As for solo ability, also depends on the player I virtually soloed to 80 and did it pretty fast and easy.

As for grouping I generally never had a problem finding a place I have perma MT grp in raids and still do random pugs. Most tanks love picking us up for the xfer (19 % plus the 8 % from Myth proc)

Long story short I love the Swash and would never play a Brig, however without their debuffs I wouldn't parse what I do. So it just depends what roll you want to take but if your looking at end game raiding a Brig is probably the better choice to get picked up.

Swashbucklers lean toward multitarget dps

Brigands lean toward more CA damage
Swashbucklers leaned toward more Auto Attack damage*

*this is unlikely still the case due to brigand epic having +da proc, may or may no be balanced by 6 piece vp set, i'm very tired atm. might still hold true due to hurricane but the da is a lot or something

It's true Skard, but just remember Swashy debuffs do not work atm lol. In fact a Swashy's most potent offensive debuff, lung puncture, has little to no effect on mobs, which is a shame, Though this might change with TSO. Who knows.

Most ppl overlook this tiny fact, but that's why generally brigs are more sought after, because dispatch is just OP on any mob aside from epics.
