Swashy or Ranger PVP...

Well I have a 22 Ranger who is a mean pvp killer but there are a couple of things the Swashy gets that really make me want to play him as my main...

First you can smuggle your entire group...

Second you can get 100% Feign Death, This is just too awesome I mean if your questing you can already sneak past most things WITH your group then if you catch aggro... 100% Feign Death. C'mon

Third you can Stun Stun Stun... Hmm this is pretty important in PVP.

Besides range and a little faster run speed what does the ranger offer that I should be considering??

swash is most definitely not stun stun stun, thats a brig, and if you spec feign death you should kill yourself.

I think this would be useful while soloing as you can train mobs then drop them just before you need to... or on another player

Ranger PvP > Swash PvP ... only reason , sneakoscopic goggles + Ranger = root snare KB pwnage... i play PvE, but the simple fact is in a duel, on my Ranger i can snare root stun kb w/e to a swash with Reach ability (i have 80 swash and ranger..) if you have the upper hand on distance, than no matter what the game is yours usually ranger vs any scout. but if a Swash had you in his grasp, you're prlly screwed, Swathe to Sneak to torp / swipe to cheap shot to boot dagger to stealthy charge, then just lay loose the triple / uncanny .. quick simple, and effective, sometimes =\ ..

reach dosent work in pvp anymore and dont use goggles just vision of the butterfly totems

well, i was talkin bout the PvE status, but i use the sneakoscopic because i dont trust any scout, they could use invis instead of a stealth, so either way i can see them.

Venser, do not give advice for a pvp server when all you do is pve duel. Not trying to be mean, but it is worlds different.

FD isnt bad in the sense your talking about, it is just all that you would lose by speccing it. Remember, a swash wins by killing really fast, not surviving

First dont listen to Zaci cause he's just a warping cheater (check naggy board for the video proof).

The FD line is fucking awesome when you're trying to level via quests. The only issue you'll find with the FD line, unlike bruiser/monk FD is that:
1. It only lasts 30 seconds (something like that)
2. It has a 1 min recast

What that means is, if you're going to FD to keep from dying, you pretty much HAVE to FD in a safe place without mobs. Now thats harder than it sounds. If you're fighting in a dungeon and you're going to train to a clickie, you have to find a place to FD nearby that wont net you assloads of aggro when that 30s run out. Cause when it does you'll have to survive another 30s to FD again.

With all that said, its great for questing. In a group setting you'll not find quite as much use for it though if you're going through a contested dungeon and your group wipes you might be the hero of the day (if you FD'd in a non aggro spot).

You'll lose a bit of DPS by having it and that's why most swashies will tell you not to bother. But until 80, go for it.

As for ranger or swash, I've played both in pvp (my main is an 80 swash). Both are good though ranger relies on suprise more than the swashie does. But well played, both do fine. I'd say the ranger has a bit of an advantage over the swash in their root/snare tactics.

Elucard you are a fucking idiot, he asked for pvp. If you, as an 80 swash on pvp is speccing fd, then you should not be allowed to log in. That is all.
