Default How much do masters matter?

So, I was just hoping to get a little advice/opinion on how much masters truly matter. I have my myth and a smattering of decent gear but have only managed to obtain 2 masters so far (don't ask, I am probably the most unlucky person ever). My ZW is usually about 4-5k and I can spike up to 6 - 7k on a single fight. I am really trying to boost my DPS and I believe I have a pretty good cast order down and I'm timing my autoattacks. So I was wondering, should getting more masters be a high priority or should I continue with gear as my number 1 priority. I have full T2 and 2 pieces of T3. We just started clearing some TSO mobs in my guild recently and I expect to be able to get a few T4 pieces shortly as well. Unfortunately due to RL I am not able to make all the raids and my ability to actually gain gear has suffered (not there when stuff I need drops or I have far less DKP to bid than other scouts). However, if getting more of my CA mastered would be a big bump to my DPS then I could start actively pursuing activities to make some plat and start buying them. I had always hoped they would just come in time but with my poor luck on getting a CA to drop that I can use and winning greed rolls (zero won ever on a master), it looks like the broker will probably be a much better source of gaining masters. I don't mind doing all the hard work to get some plat through other avenues if actually mastering my CAs will bump up my DPS significantly. I currently only have triple blades and SoH mastered. I also have 165 AA. Any advice/opinions would truly be appreciated. Thank you.

Same reply as always... every little bit helps.

Swash zones into KC -> Open tracking -> kill named = Plat.

While I am thankful that you offered some insight, I do understand that every little bit helps. What I am really trying to get advice on is where I should concentrate my efforts to realize the maximum gain to my DPS. Due to RL considerations, I am not able to raid as much as I wish and obtaining better gear will, in essence, be much more difficult than obtaining master abilities would be. I guess what I am asking is whether mastering abilities will have a significant enough effect on my DPS to warrant the increased efforts of obtaining them or if I should concentrate my somewhat limited playtime to doing what I can to get better gear or more AA (and yes I know the best would be gear, masters and AA). Thank you again.

Since you won't be getting any gear, then fully mastering yourself out is the next best thing, isn't it? Really you just answered your own question.

I know you're asking for a more focused opinion on what you should be focusing on, but skill, AAs and masters comes with time. To me, there really is no perfect method for getting any of this except to play more.

Everything is one in the same, spend your time opportunistically. If you see someone doing a pickup raid for an old zone that you haven't done, jump in it for AA. Other then that get your hands on as much plat as you can. The next best way to get gear other then raiding, is have enough money to buy the gear from guilds who are selling it. Make an effort to run a couple TSO zones a day for your master's. There is no solid answer to your question. Get AA whenever you see the chance, run through quest lines in moors etc. Make it a point to hit several easy instance when you are on, i.e- crucible/deep forge/najena/scion/anathema.

Running more zones = more chance at masters and you will get a little AA each time. Yea its not much, but like I said.. every little bit helps.

Edit: I suck @ typing.

Also, if you can get a decent group together try and run palace of ferzhul whenever possible, with a decent group it can be done in 30 - 40 mins and has some very nice gear. Not to mention Varsoon always drops a master that is needed by someone in the group. Even if you can't kill Varsoon it's still worth doing the others as they have pretty decent loot.
