Icon14 Swashbuckler or Brigand at 80?

Currently I am a 78 Swashbuckler and have been enjoying it, I have also spent 40 or so levels as a brigand and enjoyed that also but I am having trouble trying to decide on what I want to be at 80 before I start investing in Expert/Master skill books.

I have done some research on these forums and the official ones and a lot of the Brigand vs Swashbuckler posts are pretty old and outdated.

But basically, I play with 4 other players (Coercer, Dirge, Mystic and Monk) and I want to know what class would benefit this group the most.

Once in full raid gear + mythical/epic which does more DPS and which provides more benefit to raids or small groups? Right now the main thing I see as a difference is the fact of Dispatch which the Swash seems to lack.

Thanks.

Swashbucklers AE. Brigands don't since they lack hurricane. Swashies dominate on multiple single pulls. Brigands do slightly better dps on single pulls

Swashbucklers transfer hate. Brigands don't. Makes it easier for swashies to go a little harder.

Swashbucklers have a haste proc, meaning a coercer + dirge combo is more preferable for a swash than a brig with no haste proc.

If you are going to raid its a tossup really. Raids can use two brigs, but have no need for two swashies. If you're going to group primarily, I would seriously go swashy. But call me biased.

I've played both and settled with swash, really the single target dps is not all that different, I'm pretty neck and neck with my guilds brig as far as ZW in raids, he usually does out parse me on single targets. Having Hurricane does have its advantages tho =)
Easier to get a raid slot if your second brig then it would to be a second swash though. Really it boils down to what your doing. I personally would stay swash for heroic stuff, if your good at both brig and swash and want to raid I would consider going brig if your having a hard time getting a guild.

Swash all the way man. We put out some insane DPS, depending on your masters, gear, set up, and other player's skill in your raid, you will be... should be in the top 5 at all times.

In heroic content, and that group you listed, you will melt heroic content, our AE's as said earlier make us especially useful and wanted in groups. You dont need to dispatch a mob that lives 4 seconds. Since your tank isnt a "hard tank", he will need your transfer, despite having the dirge and coercer in group.

It looks like with that setup, you guys will have alot of fun, just grab yourself another healer to go along and youre all set.

Good luck man

stay swash, i personally prefer when there's a shortage of brigs - not that we'll see that ever again.

I betrayed to swashie since I rarely raid and mostly do single group TSOs. Swash DPS is much better.

Brig debuffs are nice for 4x raid mobs but personally I prefer the raw dps of the swashie.. Having transfer and a little mez is kinda nifty too!

If you like to 'stand out' a little bit more - play a swash. If you want to be sure you can get into a raiding guild - switch to a brig.

In a decent raiding guild a brig will be liked as much as the swash - cause a) there's a shortage of good brigs and b) brigs make progressing through raid content easier.
