Default New Rogue changes from fanfair

Rogues

Some tweaks to Swashies and Brigands, mainly some abilities being swapped between them.




So does anyone have any idea what they are talking about here?

I saw a discussion about this possibility in our channel today. But after reading everything on this issue, I haven't seen anything to suggest that Aeralik instends to switch Dispatch and Hurricane. That's just speculation and unfounded rumors.

I think the larger issue is that SOE is consolidating classes that were perfectly fine the way they were. Rogues were not broken, but now they are entertaining the idea that rogues need to be broken to fix other classes. It is as if the EQ2 Devs fail to recognize the fact that rogues are not the only debuffers as far as classes are concerned. The only debuff that rogues have a monopoly on is traumatic swipe, and even then it does not always land. SOE's solution ignores the fact that NUMOUROUS classes debuff everything else. Why are rogues being targeted for nurfage, when there are other classes that debuff, and some classes such as preds are able to debuff crit rates such as predators? I have no problem sharing TS debuff with another class, personnally I think that brawlers should get a TS equivalent skill.

But dividing debuffs between summoners and rogues I think is a bad idea. Rogues are not broken, but what SOE is entertaining might break rogues, and create significant headaches for raidleaders.

SOE's solution makes no sense.

And I have no problem with class consolidation, I think they may do a bad job of it.

If you think only rogue's are being changed your being naive. There will be some positives and some negatives like everything else. The bigger thing is, it's 8+ months away so when it starts going onto test get on there and report what you don't like or do like and make a impression. They have literally the broadest generalization of what they are THINKING about doing right now, nothing is set in stone and to get worked up over it now makes you silly.

so now it will be 8 healers 4 bards 4 enchanters 1 rogue if your extremely great....and 4 summoners..cause you know Sony never Fixes anything right....

So if I understand the logic... it goes like this

Requirements for a good raid:
6-8 healers
3-4 Bards, (half and half mix is good)
3-4 Chanters
3-4 Rogues/Mage DPS types (must have one Brig for dispatch)
2 plate tanks
1 pet class for pulling (could be Summoner or Shaman)

So it seems... the Brawlers are screwed all together... the Summoners are warming the bench with them and healers are the #1 required class.

Now it would seem logical that we would want a balanced raid requirement so... seems like Bards and Chanters are fine.... a little heavy, but fine. What we need is to get rid of some healing requirements... perhaps make group heals into raid wide heals? Also make those heals hit pets? (not a healer not sure if they do... never raided with a summoner lol) Perhaps make those pets able to equip gear like a regular toon? There are so many things that can be done to get summoners and Monks into the raid game that would not include benching another class.
