Default str/agil vs agil/wis for pvp

I'm thinking of switching to the str/agil line for the slow casting effect/crit to it does to ppl instead of the agil/wis for pvp purposes. Any thoughts or facts on this?

Depends on what you have access to in pvp. AGI/WIS works best when you can get a solid 1-Hander with a good DR, ratio, and slow delay.

AGI has its obvious benefits for pvp encounters, as does the STR line for crits and traumatic swipe, so its just a matter of what you have access to and your personal preference.

well the items i have access to are the ones that you get from the merchant in qeynos harbor using status points and faction. So the weapons will be about on par with each other. I'm just thinking that with the agil line i get a root (walk the plank) and my casting is sped up 25%. With the str line i can slow down there casting a reuses times plus i get a chance to crit. I realize it may not be as good for damage over time like in a raid, but i honestly pvp about 90% of the time.
Basicaly all i have to do is do more damage then the other play can so i win the encounter and faction/status/tokens. So i never really need to sustain my dps for more then about 10-30 seconds depending on the fight

DO you think those benefits outway the benefits of using a 1h'er and reposite from agil/wis line in pvp situations?

I'll preface this with "I don't PvP."

I recently went from str/wis to agi/wis and while my raid dps has gone up, my soloing ability has gone down - especially against multiple targets. I found that Str/Wis was far superior when it came to soloing or tanking, so keep that in mind if you're on your own a lot or if you end up tanking a lt.

str/sta is probably best for PvP. You gain extra HP, defense, etc. You don't really lose too much DPS if you get a solid 1Her. Either way, it should be good for PvP due to how much HP and avoidance you gain out of it.

I assume if you spend most of your PvP time with either a group or a raid? I'm pretty limited when it comes to PvP tactics but as far as I know healers and cloth DPS are the first to be attacked, so STA won't help you much there. My best guess would be to go AGI/STR like you said, since swipe, crits, and the turnaround root are going to be the most effective CAs you've got.

Also the WIS line won't do you as much good in those 30sec fights, since your still capable of putting out some nasty burst damage (Inspiraiton, Finesse, En Garde) with duel weild weps.
