Default Re: Brigand Vs. Swash

i can see brigands getting nerfed because of this horrible mess that sony has made with how decreases and increases of crush/slash/pierce mods work.

if they want swashes to be the offensive debuffers make the offensive debuffs worth a fuck

i think dps wise, swashes and brigs work fine, most would agree. utility wise our debuffs just tend to be better becuase of orange mobs, AND the fact that attack mods don't do shit. so those are game mechanics that hopefully will be fixed when sony changes capps and what not and hopefully makes hard mobs not have to be orange.

but en guard >> band of thugs..... a 150-250 dps boots for 30s that dies from about 1300 damage? wow lame...

so that leaves us with aoe avoid.

and yes im a brigand
and yes, i think it's way overpowered.

frankly, i hope sony takes this away to balance out the classes. becuase not only has it made the class a little more dull in raids, but if they take our dps and make us debuff bots ill quit.

somechanges that i think would be fair would make it a temp buff ever 3-5mins that just lasts for 20-30s depending on spell value, not only would that tone it down a huge amount, but add some skill as to when you use it and not let us get away with ignoring 2 stats that are fairly important to other melee dps.

so i said it

NERF AMAZING REFLEXES INTO A SHORT TEMP BUFF!!!

Uhh... Ramp and Snark don't be going around whoring out my info as your own. TYTY

To the point! Yes, I think brigands are overpowered and it mainly is because of amazing reflexes, but at the same time I really get pissed off when people say classes are good only because some dev plays them, I bet there is a dev playing pretty much every class if not every class.
"LOL you're a ranger rhaz, you should know that devs don't play rangers either, thats why they suck LOLOL" God. I just want to stab anyone who says that in the face, but anyway I'm getting off topic again.
I think Tangarth's idea is pretty good, but I don't see them changing an existing ability so much, so you are most likely going to have to deal with bad EoF AAs :D

I'm hoping our AA tree takes care of some of the issues with our debuffs essentially being useless, but overall I'm pretty happy with the Swash class. Some orange mobs we are pretty gimp, but so is every other ground pounder class, but a brigand (bad design~).

Plus I eat brigands for breakfast in zonewides so I don't feel too bad.

then your brigands suck, unless its like lyceum, swash shouldnt have any "ownage" of a brigand on zonewides.

well, swashes win in lyceum and brigands win in hos.... labs we still tend to have a leg up over you guys...

i still dont think a dps nerf would make the classes inline.....

----making the swash debuffs not blow ass, and take off brigand's permanent AOE avoid so we have to joust would help even the classes----

I dunno? Maybe you suck, not my brigands? I usually lose HoS unless I'm ballistic, but I win everything else due to AEs. Everything else being Lab (which sucks due to all the low hp drakes), Lyceum and DT.

I understand you have an inferiority complex but they don't have tools to beat us in most DPS situations, the only thing that mitigates us is brutal AEs stopping us from doing damage.
