Ok. I got my PC in today, but I had it delivered to work.

I have a few issues, though, that I want to get some info on.

Number 1: I got it with Windows Vista Basic (cause it was cheap). I can downgrade to XP Home if I wanna, it just depends on if I should.

Number 2: I'm assuming the only way to see what PS I have is to take it apart? I'm also assuming that I don't have a big enough one to run the system once I put my 1GB 8800GT in, right?

Number 3: Even if I keep Vista Home Basic, should I still reformat as everything is awesomely Dell installed?

I think that's it for now.

psu is easy to see. just pop off the side of the case, and you should be able to check it. don't think theres anything else you would have to do to check.

With that Dell computer you can install any Microsoft Operating system and it becomes 100% legit. Just get your hands on a Dell Ultimate DVD or Dell XP Pro CD and you won't even need a product key. I have about 100 Dell XP Pro SP2 CD's, if you want XP Pro, just pay for shipping and one can be yours.

As for the power supply, it will say it on the side when you open the case. Since you got a quad core, I'd assume its over 300w but thats not how to determine if its good or not. Theres a bunch of other small numbers there that will.

Nuke everything either way.

I have original copies of Dell Home Premium and Business. I have yet to get a computer for someone that wants Ultimate since its kinda pointless for the extra cash. The copy I downloaded for Ultimate via torrents didn't work. Home Premium or Xp Pro is all you need.

Put a format tool on a thumb drive and change your boot priority?

*I say thumb drive because of an earlier post where 90% of the people stated they no longer had a floppy disk drive anywhere in their house*
