The problem being you're either limited to a shitty nForce board or pay out the ass for a SkullTrail board (which negates the price bonus).

It's not that EQ2 has a problem with SLI, but that it barely pegs the GPU at all as it is. It'll just waste GPU cycles on a larger scale.

dunno, for the price I think I'd rather have the 8800GT, if you have the money and dont care I'd say go for it, but Im kind of waiting on the 10 Series cards, the 9x series just seems like a lame refresh of the g90/92

Kinda OT, but havent been following the newest mobo specs these days. Is intel switching socket type to 771 anytime soon or is it just a specialized socket for certain chips.

I am planning a new system but will hold off a few months if their is a whole sale socket change coming.

I was able to "step-up" to the 9800GX2 from EVGA with my 8800GTS 512 (G92 core). It is going to cost me ~$247 with ground shipping so not too bad. Not bad I guess, so right now I am #196 in the queue and time to wait.

LOL god I am a geek, I wrote a perl script using WWW::Mechanize that will login to the EVGA website and compare my queue location and email me when its changed from the last value... so lame. But hey it works!

Nehalem is supposed be on a new socket when it releases later this year.

Does step up mean you have to return the 8800?
