Default Windows Vista 64 & Everquest II Issues

Okay im pissed about the low FPS unless your in classic mode, but here is a new problem.

Sometimes when im playing the screen will start changing colors, red, yellow, green, and starting flashing the colors all over the screen... few seconds later it crashes.

Then last night on druushk it crashed to desktop twice.

Is there anything else can be done to resolve this?

Newest drivers all the way around.

3.0 Intel duo
4 gigs ram
Vista 64
8800 GTS
Raptor HD's

I have the same card, same problem. I have a stock 8600GT card in PC #2 also with Vista 64 and the same driver install package but no corruption and no crashes. I blame nVidia. SOL.

Disclaimer: This worked for me on Windows XP64. It may or may not work under Vista 64.

Have you installed the latest version of nTune?

In it, there is a section under "Performance" where you can set the fanspeed on your video card manually.

I have found that, by default, the fanspeed on the cards are set far too low. The card gets hot, and strange crap starts to happen (inluding crashes)

I set mine to 89% manually (you have to do it everytime you boot up) but all crashes have disappeared.

If nTune doesn't work in Vista 64, try to find some sort of program that will allow you to set the fanspeed a little higher.

In general though, I stay the frak away from Vista on my EQ2 machines, but it's a great OS for a little HTPC though.
