Default Video card question...

I have this.

Newegg.com - XFX PV-T71G-UDE7 GeForce 7900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

and this.

Newegg.com - APEVIA X-QPACK-AL/420 Black/Silver Aluminum MicroATX Desktop Computer Case 420W Power Supply - Computer Cases

Thinking about this.

Newegg.com - MSI N9600GT 512M OC GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Questions. Will it fit? Is it worth it? is there a better upgrade for that price?

That 9600gt is a bit longer than your 7900gt. It's about 9" long. You might want to measure inside your case (preferably along the length of your 7900). You can get a 3870, which is marginally faster than the 9600gt, for $5 more, but it's dual slot. If you've got the slot below your card occupied, that's the best you're getting for $160.

Wouldn't the 8800GT be better than the 9600GT?

The 256mb version is only $120
Newegg.com - XFX PVT88PUHD4 GeForce 8800GT XXX 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

while the 512mb version is $155
Newegg.com - CHAINTECH GSE88GT GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

And the GTS G92 version, I'm sure would blow the 9600GT away and $170.

Edit: as far as size though, idk -you'll have to measure yourself.

All 8800GTs are G92 and all of them are faster than 9600GTs.

The last one is more expensive because its an 8800GTS with 128 shaders, not an 8800GT.

Honestly, I'd go for any of the 9200GTs that use the reference design 2 slot design heatsink because they exhaust all the hot air out the back of the case.

While the one you linked to, will blow some hot air out of the case, it also blows it into the case as well...and your case is pretty small.

If your case is very well ventillated, maybe it wont be an issue...I'd err on the side of caution though.
