I would stick with P35 and go with a 9800GTX from EVGA for the step up.

I agree with Gaige, just goes P35 with some decent DDR2. PCIe 2.0 as he said is just a bandwith thing and considering last I checked we aren't even close to capping PCIe 1.0 bandwith you should be good until they decide to move to a new graphics interface.
