Default Need Help drives/video card

Dont know if this should be posted here, but..I posted this on the EQ2 Official site and got no answers, so maybe someone can help me here...
Ok, I don't know sqaut when it comes to computers, and their proccessors and their video cards. I do know how to find new drivers and install them manually though.

Ok so heres the story.
I logged into everquest2 and just like any normal day, was playing fine, I logged off for the night, went to bed, and awoke the next morning only to find that eq2 had started bugging some. It wasnt as much EQ2 As it was, my screen was breaking and I was getting lag spikes every 3-4 seconds that lasted at least 25 seconds a piece. Looked like lightning bolts of colors were going across my screen at somepoints. This is when I decided to go to Nvidia.com and download the newest drivers for my Video card. (Im looking at my video card box and I see MSI NX6200AX top right corner Nvidia GeForce 6 series) Its not the best card I know that. After downloading these drivers my COMPUTER it self started getting lag like no other. At least 10 seconds after I would turn it on, it would shut itself off, So I unistalled the drivers. I found the regular disc for the video card and tried installing it, yet it kept shutting off and giving me extreme problems on desktop, and everything. When I would click to open an application the screen would go back, and sometimes (if it didnt shut off right then) It would come back on with the application open. I do believe it is the drivers thats wrong, but maybe I need a new video card as well. Right now, I am working with my computer, and it thinks there is no video card there now, because I unistalled all the drivers and everytime i restart it says there is new hardware. So, Should I go buy a new video card that would suit my computer?
And If so, what kinds are good?
Another thing is, someone brought in the idea that Adaware was the problem. I ran AVG. It found nothing, zone alarm found no intruisions, so I do believe It's not the adaware.
If you don't get whats wrong, I'm willing to explain with more detail, but I just dont know how to explain it. I do think I need a new card though.
Maybe have geek squad look at it!
Thanks for the help in advance.

I checked your card and it appears to be AGP. Based on your description of the problem I suspect Jonathon is correct and your vid card is fried. The 7600 GT AGP is quite cheap and is probably your best option. I was in the same boat a few months ago when my 9800 died.

Make sure you completely uninstall old drivers before you install the new ones.

Something like this was happening to me when I downloaded new drivers for my 8800GT. So here is my experience.

This was from Age of Conan though. I decided to download the most recent driver for my card and OS. Well, after that was done, when I loaded the game up my screen would be black, The letters, Hotbars and maps showed up but the environment was all pitch black.

So, I fucked with the video settings in the game and found out that only High Performance actually allowed me to see what I was doing, killing or who was killing me.

Shortly after I started getting the Blue Screen causing me to flip the power. After awhile I said fuck it, I went into Control Panel, Programs and Features (Vista) and removed the video drivers and went back to the ones on the CD that came with the card. After that, my game play was fine again and no more Blue Screen.

After telling this to a tech friend of mine he told me I should check out omegadrivers.com. They support ATI and Nvidia.

SOrry for the long post, figured I would share is all.
