The only complaint I have with Nvidia hardware is you have to use a shitty nForce mobo to do SLI. 
For that reason, my next upgrade will be an Intel board and ATI cards.

Im out of the loop because I stopped caring more or less, you think this is an upgrade on a 6800 ultra? Im thinking definitely. It will fit, the thing is fucking smaller than the card I have now lol, and I have the slots

ya if you can spare the change get a 4850, but to answer your question yes the 8800GT 256MB is faster than your 6800ultra, but I would get the 4850 if you can for like $150'ish |
