Note that the link in the original post is for VISTA only. There is an xp version as well on the nvidia website.

Using xp, 8800gts 512, was getting 32-33fps with everything max in neriak, with new drivers getting 36-37, so an increase of 4 fps in this small comparison.

I run at 1920 x 1200 and thought my card was screwed because of this, but then again it doesn't happen in any other game or application.

Phew, hope this fixes it.

I dont see why these new drivers do anything for DX9/non-SM3 OpenGL2 games except for fixing bugs here and there.

They really don't. It's DX10 tuning, as previously stated. Hence XP (which doesnt support DX10) isn't going to see this. Likewise, EQ2 doesn't support it and shouldn't be seeing significant gains. If you're seeing gains in EQ2 from these drivers they are from something else (i.e. you not benchmarking properly).

Driver packages just keep getting bigger with Nvidia, it'll be like vista bloatware soon.

If this was 1992 and we were all on dialup, you'd have a point.

Well, they are unified driver packages. The same package covers five separate card series now? That's about 40MB of it, I think.

The other half appears to be the new PhysX engine that they bought a few months back and optimized to run natively on their GPUs. So I suppose half the package right now is useless to most people until games use those special instructions. I wonder if ATI packages come with Havok drivers since that's what AMD bought for an engine.
