CPU Usage Not Being Allocated
I've tried setting the EverQuest II application process priority to "Above Normal," "High," "Realtime," right when it transitions from the launchpad "EQ2.exe" to the "EverQuestII.exe," yet about 5-10 seconds into loading up, bandwidth for EverQuest II goes from 20-30% to a flat 0-1%. CPU usage prior to hitting the "Play" button is 0-7%. I've tried checking the "Event Viewer" under "Administrative Tools" and no notable errors have arisen. This issue only became apparent when I recently formatted and installed Windows XP Professional 64 bit after uninstalling Windows XP Professional 32 bit (which operated very cleanly). I've heard many people run smoothly even with the operating system type I use. I also am using the latest November 2008 edition of DirectX 9.0c. Sometimes it succeeds in allocating processor bandwidth, but it's about 1 in 30 tries (logging into the Launchpad and hitting "Play") that I'm able to achieve operability. I've had the latest drivers for all pieces of hardware and during the time when I've used 32 bit Windows XP Professional. All my drivers are up to date. Mem usage also seems to never go above 105,000 K in the task manager, either. No other program has had any issues, including a variety of contemporary titles. o.o I also reformatted yesterday and am still experiencing the same difficulties. Right when "Mem Usage" for EverQuest2.exe hits "105,648 K," all CPU bandwidth drops from its focus.
