Default installed driver upgrade for ATI Radeon 2600 Pro - and now I can't use my computer?

so I installed a driver upgrade for the ATI Radeon 2600 Pro and restarted as told

now, my computer keeps restarting, has that blue screen that says Stop error and something about a BIOS but the keyboard won't let me press DEL or use the arrow keys to go up or down on the Safe Mode menu screen (which it loads for me automatically)

should I take it in to Staples tomorrow to be repaired and or reformatted?

You should temporarily/buy a ps/2 keyboard (the thing with a purple/green connection), not usb and it will magically work again!

http://www.staples.com/office/suppli...P1924:CL141981

Then after that, you keep hitting F8 as it starts to boot, you will then have the "Last know good configuration" option added to the list of other ones you are seeing. Select that and

Are you sure because we're going in a few hours and I'll ask. I dunno though. I think the entire thing is due for a reformat but that also means trying to find the CDs that go to every goddamn printer and stuff too. Which I don't have. Dad did but he's dead.

Shouldnt need a CD for a printer. Goto the printer's manufacture's website for the latest drivers/programs to work with your OS.

I would suggest having two drives and not saving things you wanna save on your OS drive. Wipe it and restart. Instead of taking it to Staples to where they will ass-rape you in charges... for doing the same thing.

I'd much rather tease my asshole myself and not pay a lot of money for some high paid nerdy hooker to do it.

The ps/2 keyboard then last know good config will fix your situation.

I keep a cheap $5 keyboard (Microcenter in Cambridge) in my closet for when I need to use it on computers with the same situation you have.

Same. I usually always keep an extra harddrive sitting around too, including the ones I have in my computer. For a long time, back in the SDRam days, I did keep extra CPU/Ram sitting around. In case I blew something up.

I only have one external hard drive and a C drive. This is what the inside of the computer looks like.

The front glows green and says XION.

I dunno if we have ps/2 keyboards and I might get one at Staples if that's all I have to do but I'm really bad at technology and doing anything right.

An external or internal one?

I usually dont keep the external cases, I just buy the OEM drives and throw them in the computer or in the wifes. I should seriously invest in a Network storage device. that would pwn.
