Default Voicechat screwed up

Ever since Vivox were asked to make changes so that the voice module was dissociated from the client in order to work with the Station Launcher many people, primarilly those with usb headsets, have been having trouble logging into voicechat and getting it to work properly.

It would appear that the windows system settings overrides the voice options in EQ2 now so that if you have a usb headset chances are you are banging your head against the wall in frustration. Progress I guess.

Anyone here got a method of getting these headsets to work? I can reset, relog, reboot and fiddle around with the voice settings. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm now at the stage of considering sacrificing chickens in a voodoo ceremony to see if that helps. If you have a work around post it now and save those chickens.

Every time I use the voice I have to go into voice option and select windows standard sound card and change it back to usb, but no permanent solution.

Tried that and seems to work till I get in a group or raid. That is when voice chat chat says im not in channel. It kicks me out of all chat channels and I cant get back into any till I fully reboot on 1 PC.

Fair comment although a lot of people with "real" headsets are having trouble too. In other words it's not the headset, more the client imo.

Same problem but I am not using a USB headset. 70% of the time I can join channels, once I do, I can hear no problem but I cannot talk.....

I have 0 issues with Vent and TS.

LOL yeah right. Unfortunately that is more for helping with issues that have a reasonable chance of getting sorted out. This strongly looks like it is an issue that SOE/Vivox need to sort out between themselves once they sober up after Fan Faire.

Btw I'm guessing you weren't directing us to the SOE tech support "service"?

Apparently Vivox has issues often - EVE Online also uses Vivox too and that game's players are like "yeah fuck ingame voicechat"

I haven't had much trouble with it recently though

I used to use a "real headset" but now I use a USB and like it a lot better. But I guess having a headset that I like also means I have problems with in-game voice chat. Often times the EQVoiceServer.exe or whatever its called crashes while I'm in-game and does not work again until I relog. Fortunately I get memory errors and EQ2 crashes after like four or five hours of playing so it works again after that... lol
