wtf is wrong with displays these days?
cheers,
just a quick question. right now i am sporting 2 19" (1280x1024) benq TFTs. while i have no interest whatsoever in changing these i wanted to get a display with the same size for a different... workspace.
turns out, PROPER tfts are rare as fuck. im not sure if they stopped producing them or whatever, but as it is right now, the only one that still offers proper displays is EIZO and those are professional hardware for CAD/photo-stuff which are ridiculously overpriced (think of 1500 EUR+ - that means 2200 USD+) for 'common' home-use (gaming, programming).
as it is right now the only proper resolutions for displays you can still get are 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. not sure why there are no 2048x1536 displays... my guess is that this resolution exceeds the DVI-capabilities?
anyways... why is it that display manifacturers only produce crappy panels that only cater this "the shinier and prettier, the better"-type consumers and dont even offer smaller numbers of displays for people that gets hardware for usability anymore?
or.. maybe there is and i missed it + local hardware stores dont offer it?
so... is there any brand that still offers+produces 19" 1280x1024 displays?
