Default Anyone tried the latest NVIDIA GeForce 690 4GB GPU with EQII yet?

Using Intel i7 3930K 6 cores overclocked to 4.1GHz and 16GB DDR3 RAM along with it..... and in dense areas I'm getting as low as 12 FPS at maxed out settings and max camera distance. And when I say "dense area" I mean the fooking City Festival area in Darklight Woods. Whereas this GPU is supposedly pushing out

82 FPS playing Elder Scrolls 5
    91 FPS playing Crysis 2
    112 FPS playing Starcraft 2
    131 FPS playing Battlefield 3
    135 FPS playing Arkham City
328 FPS playing Call of Duty 4

All at maxed settings and 1920x1200 resolution. All of these games came out much more recently than EQ2. Is my computer messed in the head or can EQII somehow be set to be so graphically intense that even after 8 years it can still rape the highest end graphics card on the market?

It's always been my understanding that EQ2 likes to rape your CPU and use as few possible resources as possible aside from it.

I've been using the Intel Turboboost Monitor and the CPU hasn't had to clock in any faster than 3.8GHz so far.

^^^he's correct, when this came out GPU's were comparable to on-board graphics cards (lulz). I would say the quickest way to avoid dips like this is sacrifice your rendering distance to a 'reasonable' amount. I run very similar set-up but a fraction of the beast GPU (1GB Nvidia GTX 560ti) and only in raids do i have to phase out of nearly maxed everything. ***Also, if you have not done so already, turn 'shadows/lightning' to GPU rendered, not only does it look (immensely) better but framerates improve (default is CPU)

also, also: jesus fuckin christ 4GB's?! are you runnin 3 1920x1600 52'' HD TV's bra?

edit: oh yea, SoE looks @ your 6 cores and goes 'trolololo', even though there is an option to 'enable multi-core' i'm pretty sure it's like the 'close-door elevator button'. Dual-cores were the thing of the future when this game hit stores. So although you think you're runnin 4.1Ghz, divide that shit by ~2 somewhere on forums someone has tested 2, 4, and 6 core processors and an OC 2-core out performs the 6 core IIRC. (feels bad man)

and my spec includes 2 of those cards in SLI (not that it matters for that game) but on Max Payne 3 there is a setting that requires 7.1 gigs of video ram.
