I'd have to post an entire screenshot to show my hotbar arrangement, so I'll just explain it.
First off, primarily I use the
keyboard to press my hotkeys. I'm always surprised at how often people think they can click hotkeys with a mouse better than a keyboard key, but I touch-type, so I guess that's not an issue for me. If I have to spot heal, I just keep the cursor near
my raid window mod.
The most used/emergency spells are in a 3x4 grid mapped to my numeric pad. In case you didn't know, that allows me to cast spells and chat at the same time, as the numpad does not type numbers in chat. Both the [0-9-=] key assignments and the mouse will interrupt your ability to chat if you try to use them. I guess I come from an era of EQ1 where no one used Vent and you had to type things to your raid.
I only have 5 hotbars in total, and I wish I had fewer. I did actually have fewer until I got into UI modding and the /load command would reset my knowlage book order. I usually kept buffs on page 1/2, so they did not need hot bars. Press K, press my buffs, press K. No need for my buffs to be on my screen all day unless the raid wipes. Not to mention you can put all three group buffs on one macro that you press three times. (Said macro requires several slash commands)
I keep my bags arranged, so I know where everything is anyhow. There's no need to have invis totems on a hotbar key when I use them twice a week on average. I press the open all bags keyboard shortcut and use it from there.
All of my res spells are on one hotkey with some additional macro commands to remove queuing. If I'm standing on the person, Ressurect will cast first. If I'm not or its not up, Battle Reprive will cast. If I'm out of range of that, group res will cast. I admit that group res has its own hotkey as well. Revive will try to cast at the end, but it won't if I'm in combat.
I'm curious as to how many of you guys are 100% mousers...
