Default Post your Hotbar Setup!

Hey guys,

Couldn't for the life of me find any thread in this section about this. I'm curious about yah'lls hotbar setup, just wanna see how / why you set it up the way you do.

Here's Mine: (No I'm not 80 yet, lol).

First line is buffs / manastone and clickies.

Second is DD's, and main debuffs. The res's are the Revive, and Battles Reprieve.

3rd - heals, reactives, emergencies, ae deaggro, 100% revive and group rev.

4th = my cures, all hotkeyed to my number kets to make it easier to cast them quick, Master Strike, Divine Recovery and int line DD.

5th = Hammer, sanctuary, all the temp buffs really. Hover (Go Dark Elves), heroics, pet attack for hammer, bubble, call.

Post yours =)

Hah, aye - I didn't include my clicky hotbars, I've got 2 other ones that are at the far side of my screen that have a buncha potions, claymore and stuffs on them. Those ones there are just there because I'm lazy and don't wanna reach all the way over my screen for power pot and elixir of thorns on my grind to 80

I'd have to post an entire screenshot to show my hotbar arrangement, so I'll just explain it.

First off, primarily I use the keyboard to press my hotkeys. I'm always surprised at how often people think they can click hotkeys with a mouse better than a keyboard key, but I touch-type, so I guess that's not an issue for me. If I have to spot heal, I just keep the cursor near my raid window mod.

The most used/emergency spells are in a 3x4 grid mapped to my numeric pad. In case you didn't know, that allows me to cast spells and chat at the same time, as the numpad does not type numbers in chat. Both the [0-9-=] key assignments and the mouse will interrupt your ability to chat if you try to use them. I guess I come from an era of EQ1 where no one used Vent and you had to type things to your raid.

I only have 5 hotbars in total, and I wish I had fewer. I did actually have fewer until I got into UI modding and the /load command would reset my knowlage book order. I usually kept buffs on page 1/2, so they did not need hot bars. Press K, press my buffs, press K. No need for my buffs to be on my screen all day unless the raid wipes. Not to mention you can put all three group buffs on one macro that you press three times. (Said macro requires several slash commands)

I keep my bags arranged, so I know where everything is anyhow. There's no need to have invis totems on a hotbar key when I use them twice a week on average. I press the open all bags keyboard shortcut and use it from there.

All of my res spells are on one hotkey with some additional macro commands to remove queuing. If I'm standing on the person, Ressurect will cast first. If I'm not or its not up, Battle Reprive will cast. If I'm out of range of that, group res will cast. I admit that group res has its own hotkey as well. Revive will try to cast at the end, but it won't if I'm in combat.

I'm curious as to how many of you guys are 100% mousers...

I'm pretty much 100% mouser...though i have my heals set up on keys 1-4. Keep the groupwindow and buff window right above my hotbars .... for 90% of my casting my mouse cursor doens't move more than 6 inches to cast heals, debuffs, click cures on groupmembers, and cast dd's/dots, and cancel disable smite wraths. (btw is there a macro to cancel smite wraths without right clicking it.... it's getting to be a pain now with all the replensihing heals and shelter procs etc in buff window)

I have pretty much the same set up for my rez macros.

Set up the fetish ui raid window button (/useabilityon ) to program my out of group heals/ cures as needed. With click cures and raid window programable buttons I never change targets.

I have about 8 hotbars up ...but two are for buffs, eqiupment macro's and out of combat stuff tucked away in each corner.

Personally, I use the mouse for 100% of my abilites and use the keyboard for switching targets (group members F1-F6 macros for offtank, MT, necro with 1 through 9 keys) and hitting X to cancel spell casts.

When I first started playing a healer, I began to think that because I used the mouse for 100% of my abilities it was inefficient for curing and using the keyboard was probably a better approach for quick curing.

However, now I feel that this setup is the best because you are not limited to the amount of abilities you can fit on 3 hotbars, movement is easier, and you can become just as fast and accurate clicking a button as pressing a key.

From my experience, it seems like most healers use the keyboard.
