I have always thought Soothe, when casted on a hostile, was an AOE type hate decrease that affected non-fighters. I was talking with a friend and she says no way. Can anyone confirm what it actually does in combat?

That extra effect is from the AA line in EoF. I don't think it's on the base spell.

Correct.

Soothe has no effects in-combat, unless you enhance it with EoF AAs, at which point upon being cast, it reduces the target's threat to non fighters of the group it is targetting by a set value - which depends on how many ranks you have in the AA. Somewhere over 1000, I think at 5 ranks.
