I wouldn't go so far as to say overpowered in actual effectiveness considering the random nature of who and when the hat will proc. It will definitely give random survivability boosts to some people in your group, or if lucky, the entire group before an AE.

But from a HPS perspective and those who think that matters more than how effective you are at your actual job, keeping your group and tank alive, yeah its going to be kind of overpowered.

With as much spell haste as I'm mustering I still can't get shelter procs to land consistently enough for me to consider them a real and effective bonus to keeping a single target alive, they are great on the other hand for relieving some healing pressure for healing everyone in the group back up by softening the blows a little. And those procs have a higher base proc rate.

The proc rate on the screenshot that I posted was with blessings on, so I believe that makes the proc ~1.5ppm un-buffed.

Very good point about Shelter, pagansaint. All these random little procs, heals, wards, etc help somewhat in general, but in keeping up the MT they have a secondary role. Then again you could say the MT defiler is the single most important person in keeping the MT up anyway...

Concerning that helmet, I am not sure how many healing spells an MT defiler is casting per minute, but I am chain casting heals usually... mostly to proc stuff like power and wards. If the defiler isnt casting heals as often, that helmet is in fact better for a templar.

Not eveyone is MT templar and i dont see why OT templar need shield ally really..


And even if they speced for shield ally they can swap it when their not using shield ally
