Re: Sheild Ally (again), just double-checking
Yeah the Staff works due to it being a % based modifier it appears.
I would say the plate forearms out of chelsith would rate higher for pure avoidance due to the parry check coming before the block check. It wouldn't be much of a difference but it would make some.
Now if only I could get that damn 1h from chelsith to drop for me.

Re: Sheild Ally (again), just double-checking
Maybe im not looking at whole picture....
I can get 3 MASTERCRAFTED armor pieces and get +3% block chance or get 3 pieces of VP set gear and get 2% to stoneskin.
Does that seem messed up to anybody else?

Re: Sheild Ally (again), just double-checking
Ah, but keep in mind that
3% Block Chance, with 60% of Shield Ally = 2% avoidance...
And that Stoneskin will cap if you have a mystic or warlock in your group.
And that...
Yeah, it's kinda skewered. The advantage is that wearing three pieces of VP loot nets you 14% heal crit and some melee or spell crit.

Re: Sheild Ally (again), just double-checking
%, or X Dodge (eg, Yebsoth's Guardian, Dodge Drink, Supple Dogwood staff)
%, or X Deflect (none that I know of)
%, or X Block (MC armour, Hate BP, +block adornment, lend shielding)
%, or X Parry (Parry wrist adornment)
%, or X Riposte (Those Bracers from Chel'sith)
The protection of your shield.
Anything that increases the Protection of your shield. (3rd Ability in AGI AA)
All affect Shield Ally.
Agility, Defense, Mitigation, +to parry or deflect as a SKILL (and not a straight-up modifier), the colour of your armour, the breakfast you ate, and your soci-political leanings
Do NOT affect Shield Ally.

Re: Sheild Ally (again), just double-checking
Actually if you breakfast was them yummy parry infusions it does help shield ally
Thanks for the consolidated post!
Any chance of getting the same done to AA line caps like stoneskin, glory etc. I know it's a bit more difficult because of group make up.

Re: Sheild Ally (again), just double-checking
WOOT! I finally got an aa respec shard! On top of which they (guild) might... maybe, probably not soon but once I find a replacement dirge... let me start raiding with my templar, so I was wondering, how important is this for an AA for raiding (obviously only important in MT group) and what other AA lines do templars go for MT for raiding... I was thinking a few ways, because stifle/interrupt immunity still seems important for big names since a lot of them stifle, and so does divine recovery for faster casting for all 3 healers in the mt group, but so what, you drop stam line heal crits for agi and go full str/int and max shield ally- and the rest in agi shield effectivness for better results with sheild ally?
