Default Prioritising AA Points for DPS (While leveling)

Hi Fellow Templars

I've come onto this forum to get some feedback from experienced templars on the order and priority of how you spent your AA points while leveling to help maximise DPS.

I've read the many posts already on this forum made on AA set-up to help squeeze as much DPS as can be done for a solo templar, so I think I'm fairly well informed, my question is in what order and where would you spend those points while leveling.

As a bit of background of me:
I'm lv 44, MC armour and nice 2 hander (50-150dmg) I have tried to maximise str/int, even using adornments to help, including adpet3 for my main nukes.

4-4-8 STA, 4-4-8 INT and 5 in reproach and 5 in smites line for both nukes.

My play style when soloing is to mainly mix mele and spells. I start with yaulp, use reproach (so I hit mob harder) and with +100% mele crits and inbetween swings I'm nuking and casting warring faith for small dot.
Ok, so I've got +100% mele crits, more INT for spell damage, +28% spell crit, my nukes cast faster and cost less mana - great I'm happy so far. But where do I go now with my AA?

Quesitons:

1. Does it make sense to now go further into the INT tree for faster casting - ie more dps with more spells landing faster?

2. Should I start going down the STR line? interupts and proc damage - I'd love the final skill of non interupt casting but I cant have that and 4-4-8 in both STA/INT. So what do I compromise on? I'm thinking if I'm getting interupted (and we all know we do) I'm not landing nukes, so my DPS will drop anyway - so maybe non interupting casting helps DPS?

3. Should I just keep going in the templar tree down to smite evil and leave the 4-4-8 in INT/STA?

4. With my existing build I dont have any final line abilites - am I gimping myself by not having at least one powerful final line skill?
I dont always group with the same players for example, so I typically may solo/group 50%/50% of my time on line. I feel my healing is great for groups as I have my heals are adept 3, as I said at the start of the post its mainly to do with AA prioritisation as I increase in level, where should the next ones go?

Thanks for your help.

Default Re: Prioritising AA Points for DPS (While leveling)

STR is a matter of preference. As a solo player often getting beat on - it IS the line of choice. You get some extra HP (less heals cast = more dps), you get a slight bonus to dps (the proc) and the immunity to interupts. As a general rule if you switch to this your DPS will drop (even with less interupts), but the reliability of your dpsing/healing will improve (so you don't need to frantically recast your reactive as you drop below 10% hoping it doesn't get interupted again)

If your goal is pure DPS, the next step is maxing the rest of your smites, int line... or, depending on how much of your dps comes from melee, getting that 32% double attack from AGI. Int line is a popular favorite because shorter cast times will help you get interupted less (and heal faster), but if that's not necessary, you'll be better served by AGi or Smite-Wrath.

The end line abilities are all situational... I wouldn't worry too much about getting them.
