Re: Can templars DPS
You're right, it really doesn't. But I've used it before to argue my way into getting to play with it for trash in zones! 90%+ Double Attack with a true 100% crit rate(about 116% displayed) was fun stuff.

You can't except great shaman to win against great templar on boss mob with big aoe's .. templars are just better healer on mobs with aoe's ( especially if mob does arcane dmg )
And now with repent and ward gears its easier to win against defiler on mobs that does lesser dmg
and dont let me i've won because i played with shitty defilers

Re: Can templars DPS
I am really interested in this topic since i get bored being a healer and myself and the other templar in the guild routinely compete on parse. I am however a little dissappointed since you derailed the discussion to heal parse. The only one who said anything exciting was the moron who said they can parse 2.5k zone wide and i call BULLSHIT ! I am not saying that I know it all but I have tried alot of different setups and 1 to 1.5 is the realistic. I sure would like to know how I could do 2.5. If I am wrong please spell it out. Explain how I can do it just dont make a comment about how it is possible with no info to back it up.

Re: Can templars DPS
2.5k and a whole lot more is very achieveable so long as you're not an MT healer :P ... if you are after max DPS and prepared to sacrific healing punch then look at the following...
1. Cleric Tree - Max Crit, Max Spell Crit, Max Cast speed, Max Bolt of Power, Consider DR
2. Holy Smites - Max everything
3. DPS Gear - All those little quest rewards with +spell damage, +spell crit you picked up while leveling to 80... put them on. Fitzpitzles Protector, Praetor's Guard, BCG, long delay one hander etc. etc.
4. Buffs - Give youself Virtue, Aegolisim and Yulp, beg your group mates for any other buffs you can swindle out of them. You can also use a +spell crit elixer for a bit more punch
5. Cast order - hammer on the pull (unless mob is likely to AOE), stand up next to mob and turn on auto attack and send your hammer. Warring, Martyr, Divine, Smite, Martyr, Divine... rinse and repeat something along those lines, basically you're spaming those four spells back to back. (Don't forget Master Strike if it's up)
6. Temp Buffs - Once your troub calls RW maestro hit DR if you took it.
That's about it, has worked for me in the past... undead fights you should be able to hit 3k if you don't need to stop and heal. With all that and going flat chat there's no reason why you couldn't pull (or be damned close to) a 2.5k ZW (trash only).
If you're not prepared to sacrific your healing spec then just make up a macro to equip your DPS gear for trash fights and your healer gear for named fights, you should still be able to do reasonably well.

Re: Can templars DPS
3k is barely, BARELY do-able in a single fight, with a full DPS spec against undead mobs, with Divine Recovery and the hammer pet up.
But that's only once every 3 minutes for the pet, and 5 minutes for the recovery. With a decent raid, that's only every 5 fights.
You're zw will be much closer to 1.7k. All this is assuming zero healing.

I think 2.5k is possible. Consider I have been playing my templar for 3 months only. I was not specced down the nuke line, and I don't have any specific DPS gear.
It was pretty easy to put up 1500 if I am in OT group. With pet up it is pretty easy to spike to 2k.
Consider if you can beg for TC, Haste and DPS buff + Nuke line. And a set of Crit + Spell dmg gear, I don't see any problem hitting 3k. And in any good guild, OT Templar basically can go AFK on most of the zone with out too much problem anyways. (well throw up repent and 2 heal debuff and DPS away.)

In any good guild, the OT group is gonna be full of chokers, so you can't just AFK.
