Its definitely worth it for almost everything. The harder encounters now (for us anyway) the difficulty isn't in the tank dying or getting pounded its in people curing/killing adds etc/script stuff. Byzola is a good example. I'll throw on the Drelikus for a couple names in VP but thats it, really.

As OT cleric I can see myself using it more than if I was MT cleric, but I think I'm going to pass on aye'ing on it until our or MT defiler and OT mystic gets one each.

I'm just worried we won't get any healing oriented priest jewelry out of the zone.

Only two pieces I've seen so far for defensive jewelry for us to wear are the bracelet and earring from the turn in quest from the sisters.

I only caution you to remember that avoidance is not on a linear curve. Going from 900 to 500 protection will probably make you lose more than half of your supposed blocking ability. After all, you have to have at least a couple hundred protection or something to have even 0.1% blocking for L80.

ONE DAY, SoE will give us a good Shield Ally shield that comes from a raid instead of a solo quest for a treasured round shield, or off of trash in a heroic instance, or even a hard to get to named deep in an orange dungeon.

Well its also a good bit more than 400 protection due to Agi3.

Guard of Drelikus has just under 1200 protection when Agi3 with 8 points is applied and that shield would have 650-ish. That is why you would be having only about half the block chance when swapping from the Guard of Drelikus to a 500-ish protection shield.

I am rather curious as to why there isn't any 900+ protection priest only bucklers floating around on raid loot tables.

Is this sarcasm? Because I cannot see your point here. It's much easier for your normal raider to get a good shield from SoF or Chardok, than to have one drop in, say, VP. For people who don't raid and still want to use Shield Ally, it is very good to be able to get a good one from SoF, or even Chardok on a lucky day.

Ofc it's a bit silly that Mister HC Raider uses the same shield as Twinkledinkle Glitterbell, the casual, a bit clueless templar girl (who was told about the shield from a friend in a serious guild), but I am used now to having the best Shield Ally shield available outside of raids. One thing I like about RoK is that gear for special situations is available through quests / heroic mobs and thus available to the majority of the population if, IF, they're knowledgeable enough to recognise it or go hunting for it. <b>

This should not stop SOE putting the best available Shield Ally shield into the loot table of an avatar or VP end boss... but just imagine the only decent Shield Ally shield dropped exclusively off Silverwing - now that would suck.

No one is asking for the only good Shield Ally shields to come from upper tier raid mobs, but they are asking for atleast one decent one to come from a raid type situation that is better than heroic dungeon ones.

I'm not even asking for one that's better. Not one single T8 raid shield can beat the protection of a T7 treasured round shield I got from some solo quest two years ago. I think that's stupid. It's clear by the SoF and Chardok shield that they are willing to make shields appealing to Shield Ally people. But I'm sad when I see all of these fabled priest shields come out that I'm completely uninterested in because they only have 500 protection.

I think the priest usable shields with high protection were put in by mistake. It's just not consistent with the loot tables. Not that I'm complaining...

I think that would have been a valid point when we were only dealing with the Bulwark of the Brave. But then they put in the Shield of Rainbow Hues and Guard of Drelikus. So they didn't "fix" the original but put in two more. Even after they proved they were willing to fix their mistakes with the Kiteshield of the Witchdoctor.
