Shields and a suggestion
I see alot of discussion going on in the proc thread about shields, and thought that I'd start a new thread surrounding shields.
Here is my thoughts on the world surrounding shields.
Personally, I say screw the buckler, I've got my eyes on a bigger prize. Granted this is a pipe dream, but still if you are going to dream might as well dream big.
How about letting clerics use kite shields! I mean, when people think about druids, they think of a leather clad tree hugger wielding a scimitar looking sword. When people think about shamen they think about a spirit talker who is holding something that looks like a pike.
This gives our healing counterparts more choices on gear and custimizability. Why can't we have the ability to get something that they can't. Now before you say we can wear plate, that's just a bull shit redirection. As it sits right now, alot of the best healing gear is chain/leather (there is some good plate).
Before KoS the kite shield was known as the crusader's shield. When they allowed crusaders to start using tower shields, the kite shield began to start losing its purpose. Why not breath new life into an old object and allow the cleric community to use these forgotten relics. I don't see it making us overpowered by any means and granted as things sit right now there wouldnt' be any good "healing shields", but then again what is deemed one of the best shields for shield ally (guard of drelikus) doesn't really do anything for a cleric, but most use it because it has a high protection.
So what do the rest of you think?
