Default Shield Ally - Do you wear the MC pieces?

From the time my guild started in VP until we cleared it, I started wearing the four master crafted shield ally pieces 100% of the time. The items I'm talking about are:

Pristine Incarnadine Vanguard Barbute
Pristine Incarnadine Vanguard Gussets
Pristine Incarnadine Vanguard Spaulders
Danak Essence Vial Necklace

Of course, this was for the 3% shield block and 2% riposte. Those bonuses to shield ally I found were very useful when killing Druusk for the first time, especially.

Looking at some of the top guilds on the RoK contested list and checking out their Templars on eq2players, it seems that very few are wearing any of these pieces. In fact, I counted only two Templars in the top 10 guilds wearing any at all (Danak Essence Vial Necklace).

My question is, do you guys swap these in for hard-hitting fights? Or do you just not wear them at all? Did you wear them at one time? Thanks!

I wear the necklace and a couple of the MC pieces. If any charred patterns would drop, I might wear those however. I still haven't been able to get two pieces for 2% stoneskin which I feel is an acceptable tradeoff. I swear that my guild gets rather low rates for charred, and out of those, 75% of the drops were legs.

I'm wear neck when in MT group or OT with hard adds.
MC pieces not worth to use it over set/avatar gear.

Well after reading this and thinking about it I've put on the neck and that MC hat. I should probably wear the shoulders too. I only have access to t1-t2 loot anyways and so far it all blows.

Untill the chelsith forearms drop I think i'll keep on the 4% recast reducing chain forearms from PR on. With that and some other gear I got the recast on my repent down to 25seconds... cause repent saves lives maybe an extra 1% block is better than ~1.2s faster repent but dunno.

Since our defiler got the soh chain hat i'm really feeling like a buff bot... i might as well max SA lol.

for extra avoidance stuff I only use the parry wrist from sisters. I think that stuff starts to lose value when you can use pieces with more utility and survivability. We had only 2 healers in 5 person mt group (myself and defiler) for tangrin tonight and had no problems, and he is definitely the mob you want to stack avoidance on. I dunno, I just think people are over weighing the avoidance stuff. I am confident I could heal through any mob in the game without the help (and without SOH gloves or chain hat) so I would rather focus on getting sanct up as much as possible and surviving through AOES (and eating less group wards)

I switch out gear depending on the fight. On hard hitting stuff (Druushk) I will wear the Danak's necklace and the mastercrafted stuff. On our Nexona pulls I also wore it, because even though Nexona doesn't hit as hard, that double attack BS is mean.
