hehe care to elaborate please? you got an impression on both my aa setups and all my different gear sets from looking at my eq2player profile? That's some mad skills.
I wouldn't have made that thread if I wasn't open for suggestion and discussions to change my mind-set. I am happy to get (specially) templars to show another side but as I can see it right now it's mostly players who play the very high end of raiding and have skill/spells/weapons and gear which some of us might not even see.
Thanks for calling my attempt to actually learn more about my class and try to discuss something "babble" ;)

And besides three or maybe 4 items I can think of the top of my head no templar is considering using any other gear then plate.

So, Snark, isn't that pretty much what I said?
However, I see the point that on a pve server and from a RAID point of view, yes the overall itemization available to us is of course an advantage.
Still leather, chain and plate are mostly well balanced and don't differ much in stats except the chain hat and the plate gloves (and some legs mentioned which I didn't hear about before). The robe doesn't count because all of the healer types can wear it if they then chose so. So in theory we do have much more items to chose from but in practice I still don't see this as a real issue at hand.

Re: So, are we really so overpowered?
It's funny that when I write an ass long post about all the cool stuff templars have and others don't, it draws the reply that templars are a "very well balanced class".

True story. Repent is crazy overpowered... It's capable of being a 6k ward (on crit) and then healing for the same amount after the ward is exhausted. IIRC, isn't a defiler's group ward around 6k on a crit as well?

Re: So, are we really so overpowered?
Something I would like to add here: I hear crazy numbers but tbh this is mostly from high end raiding equipped templars.
I still think that the main player base might not even see VP or any of the high end raiding gear or get their mythicals for that matter.
So taking extreme examples into consideration is not quite fair imo.
SoH is pretty much the end of the raiding I see right now and I have yet to see gloves drop after all my visits in that zone.

Re: So, are we really so overpowered?
Doesnt matter whether top end raiding templar or casual raiding templar. It's about the class and its mechanisms in T8. There is no high end raiding gear I know of for templars that would elevate them over other healers if they were equal in the first place. And the gloves are available for everybody, evne for casual ppl who go to pikcup SOH raids.

Re: So, are we really so overpowered?
Well then let me rephrase. Depends if you have masters or adeptIII spells.
it depends if you have drops from VP - because there are examples listed here which don't apply to a normal templar like myself.
I sure as hell can't heal a rok instance with glory only. Or with repent and single target reactive only. Not to mention for that to happen you need a group setup with a lot of melees and on top they need to be hasted quite nicely too. So why bring that exaggerated examples into a discussion about a class?
All I am saying is, bringing weird examples which don't apply to most of the normal casual templars into play, is not fair.
Or am I still totally off here?

Re: So, are we really so overpowered?
Most of the examples (and ALL of my examples) apply even to an ad3 templar with legendary gear. You still have shitloads of CC, still have Sanctuary, lotto heals, Shield Ally, stoneskin, Repent, can pick between all armor types, etc etc. It doesnt matter that you get better with VP/Avatar/SOH drops, since other healer classes in the same guild get most of the same gear from there too. If you're talking about OP or not, the only thing you can do is compare a templar to another healer with the same amount and quality of gear and spell updates.
This discussion really feels like a meeting at work, where everybody babbles some mildly related stuff, and in the end, nobody is a bit smarter for it.

Numbers for the adept 3 versions, without any +healing (actually without any equipment at all and only my AAs that I didn't bother to pay to reset just for this), so obviously with equipment you can boost the healing amounts, cast times more than already, recast times, critrates, master spells, other people's group buffs and other blahblahblah.
Defiler:
Ancient Shroud (78) - single target ward - 1838 - cast 1.75, recast 6.0
Carrion Warding (79) - group ward (AE) - 3372 - cast 4.37, recast 15.0
Mystic:
Ancient Aegis (78) - single target ward - 1838 - cast 1.75, recast 6.0
Umbral Warding (79) - group ward (AE) - 3372 - cast 4.37, recast 15.0
Templar:
Repent (80) - single target reactive ward - 2912 - cast 2.19, recast 30.0
