Default Re: New to raiding, lots of questions, please help :(

I have a quick question about the AA lines. I'm currently spec'd Str, Sta, and Int. My guild is moving into RoK t2 content and I wanna be able to provide as much out of my class as possible. I know a lot of templars talk about going down the Agi line for shield alley. However when I discussed it with our MT (i'm in the MT group) he told me that the brawler in the raid cast his avoidance buff on him. Being that the brawler will have more avoidance than me, he felt like it would be a waste for me to go down the Agi line. Can anyone elaborate on this.?.?.?

He is obviously unaware that Shield Ally and the fighter versions of the buff stack. Two fighters cannot cast it on the MT, but a cleric and a fighter can.

If you do go this route, don't take the spell description literally. Meaning, don't try boosting your own avoidance by adding AGI ect. You can only transfer uncontested avoidance and avoidance created by your shield's protection value.

I'm sure there are several threads in this forum discussing this further if you use the search function.

Stackage confirmed. The fighter avoid is a lot better than templar avoid, but then again, the MT should only need a fighter avoid on hard-hitting progress mobs (mobs you never beat before).

Incidentally, some of the fighter ones do benefit from AGI. Which can lead to the misconception that you should be stacking AGI, too. Drop some knowledge on them.

there is probably a thread about these somewhere, but being at work and off the top of my head:
mystical earring of the invoker - t7 kos collection, heals zw like OH
bone hoops, as said off solo quest in JW skorp camp
sokohide cuirass, chardok questline, rewards about 3 or 4 quests in
battlepriest leggings - jinisk faction merchant in Kunzar
shamanic something shoulders, stupid rare drop from trash in chelsith
pollywog wrist, heroic questline in kunzar for quests inside seb
fabled healer cloak from RE2
cloak of traitors grace - legendary tradeable cloak from JW nameds, usually find a few on broker

oh yeah, and as for tips for raiding:
macroing reverence to single target reactive (with target set for choker wearing swash/assasin/fast spamming dps in or out of group) works well for me in MT group. that way i dont have to care about casting it specifically, but its cast automatically whenever i cast my st reactive, which is cast at most times anyway.
casting shield of faith at start of fight also helps chokerwearers in group, and applies for both MT and dps group healing.

learning to love /cancel_spellcast in front of a macro on repent, groupcure and death prevention (holy something?) spell.

oh and learn the encounters, know what to expect and whats coming so youre not at all times just re-acting to the encounter, but also pre-acting.

and i should say that this works for me in the content my guild is doing, which is instanced raiding only (minus trak and byz)

There's also a very nice pair of pants that you can buy from the faction merchants in the city of jinisk. Battlepriests leggings or something like that. Imo they are the best pants to wear until you get the Transcending leggings with the casting haste.

Also there is the Cloak of Traitor's Grace. It drops off of any named in JW and can also be purchased from the broker if someone posted one. Prolly the best non-raiding cloak until the one from RE2(which imo is the best cloak for a templar period.)
