It has nothing to do with a T7 item being better than a T8 item.

That would be like comparing the mitigation of T7 Plate Armor and T8 Chain Armor. They are two completely different things.

Priests aren't supposed to be able to wear any shields except Bucklers. Therefore, it's like a Brawler/Druid wearing Chain when he's only supposed to be able to wear Leather.

Oh, and there are pieces of T8 Leather which more mit than T8 Chain, that are both drops from Avatars.

Exactly, that is why it doesn't make sense to compare the Protection of the Round Shield to the protection of Bucklers.

Yes, the highest protection will be from a T7 item, but it is an anomaly.

Except there has been a history of a select few round shields being wearable by priests since KoS (that I know of).

AFAIK, no one has compiled hard numbers on how the protection value of a shield scales against mob level. Is it conceivable that you could be looking at a 30% reduction from a 70 shield against a 85 mob? Seems possible to me.

Unless someone comes up with some numbers that show that the SoRH is still 20% more effective than a T8 shield, I'll likely switch to something with a better balance of heal bonuses and protection.

Edit: the Brace of Corporeal Darklight is looking pretty good. Especially considering how attainable it is. Plus, I'm a sucker for self stone skin procs.

Hahaha, that was a good one. I have yet to see it drop for my guild. And even if it does, the damn shamans and druids will be all over it.

It's dropped a few times for us, but I always passed on it. On the other hand, we have never seen the gauntlets. RNG strikes again!

No gauntlets or sheild and only 1 helm. I had the most dkp so I got the helm but now I guess i need to save for the gloves and the sheild.

I was hopping the other healers would go crazy for the sheild so I could get a jewlery peice or 2 cheap but I guess not. : (

I told our clerics if they so much as went in for that fucking helm i'd kick their ass irl!
