Despite it making no sense, you can in fact give dodge modifiers to the tank because it is an uncontested check.

I wouldn't use your base avoidance as that's not what truely translates through Shield Ally. Except for finding your blocking percentage, ignore the persona window and manually count up your uncontested avoidance values such as parry% adornments or dodge/parry provisions. You cannot cause a "miss" for your target so do not count your full base avoidance as shown in persona.
As for the exact calculations, it's somewhat more difficult than that. There is some debate on whether avoidance groups together the same types into one check or not. Personally I have seven sources of avoidance that translate through Shield Ally. Arranged by group there are four different types. At the very least, my avoidance through Shield Ally is three separate checks. To calculate the different checks, it is not as simple as adding the percentages together. If it were, 50+50+50 would be 150% avoidance, where it is only ~88%. Add to the mix, the tank also has just as many checks that supercede yours... but it's very possible that their checks are weaved with our own and not all before our own.
In short, you're not far off... but it's not really like that.
