Of course it doesn't... but I've never seen a precedent where they had a spell do that.

The closest thing being possibly Divine Arbitration and we all know how much health that spills off into nowhere.

It was originally working in that method, the only thing that was supposed to be changed was the ability for the health drain to be affected by wards.

And there isn't a single other ability that has such a wide range of effectiveness for such a high cost.

The cost should at the least be proportional to the range of effectiveness as it was originally, especially if the detriment is unmitigated in any way. Hence, still broken. More so than it was before these band aid work arounds.

It actually never was working properly. Before it was doing heat damage which was just mitigated to very little, then warded. It is now a Consumed Cost which means it doesn't "do" damage to you persay, and it'll do the full damage, the problem is that their game mechanics don't seem smart enough to have it be variable.

So basically, by changing it to be a consumed cost(unmitigated in any way) they cannot make it be a dynamic cost.

What you're saying is there is no way for them to make the spell work properly with the coding they have.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Couldn't they just change it to be focus damage?

Focus damage eats wards.

The only reason for the change they have admitted to was that it should not touch wards. It even says so in the patch notes.

The spell was meant to work similar to soulward but with a cleric like flavor to it. So it should not eat through wards and other effects on the player which is what was fixed. On further review, I set the casting time to be instant and instant recovery which should allow you to heal yourself back up quickly after using it.

Yeah that is what I do but like I said I am not in a well protected group and chances are Meliorate is on cooldown when I might need it for myself /shrug. The Group Heal is on faster cast and recast iirc now with full shadow AA. I automatically hit it after Sacrifice anyway (specially since I have several chokers in my group).

As it stands now I am not going to spend a point on it. And just to throw something else in there. I wish there was a focus aa for Shield of Faith.. It would be nice if SoF would help keep down the damage of Sacrifice. It would give us a nice tool to work against it without "taking" away from any of the cry babies.

No healer's emergency spells do shit.
