Re: Betrayal
Depends on the faction quests you do how long it takes.
It takes about an hour if you time starting the whole process with the in game day/night cycle for the one step that requires it to be in game night. And picking a crackerjack joke of a faction quest to repeat over and over makes it take even less time.
And as for your wanting to get back into raiding, Inquis can handle any healing job asked of it perfectly well, easier in some aspects than templar can, especially if solo healing a group. As they said, the biggest draw for betraying to a Templar is needing to to fill the MT group cleric job.

Once you betray, you'll learn really quickly how to be frugal with your power and still heal at maximum capacity. Just make sure you've got some Manawell/Soulsiphon etc. equipment. Revel's stickied gear thread is a good start.
On a side note, be prepared to /roleplay and hide your EQ2players account, otherwise you'll be pelted with random tells and ninja invites to groups/raids. "Plx 2 heal mai gruop n Karnor's Castel?!?!"

Re: Betrayal
Not much to learn to be on a similar level again... cast reactives, sometimes Repent. Everything else is the difference between a decent healer and a good one.

Re: Betrayal
Cast repent every time its up. Always lead off with and maintain religiously the two lotto heals(Mark and Involuntary), for heroic trash don't bother, unless you're solo'ing it practically. Shield of Faith, cast it every time its up if you have chokers in group. Spam group heal and group reactive for procs.
Thats Templar in its essence.

Re: Betrayal
as a former inquis that is now a templar i understand your pain.. The fastest that i did the betrayal was in just over 2 hours that was with a mentor bot to grey the instances.. I dont regret the switch as templars are healing in easy mode compared to inqs.. Before any of you act all epeen, yes i could solo heal my group and i did it alot all the way thru ROK. Now i will say this.. i do regret the move but i have a remedy. An alt inquisitor that is my new pet project..
enjoy the templar and the hps numbers but u will miss the inq and its all around playability.. they solo better they can heal groups just as well with the right playstyle and in raids while the stoneskin is nice its true MT templar is the only reason to play em really..
Just think of this though.. if you do happen to suck as a player (i am not saying you do).. you can no longer hide behind the stereotype of "well my class sucks" .
If you suck as a templar you got zero excuses...

Former Inquisitors are the worst kind of Templar... pussies!
Just trolling, of course, but I think you guys should shut up and stop tempting me.

Re: Betrayal
Personally, I don't really think there is a reason to be an inq anymore (aside from that crazy fucking mythical). Templars are beastly healers with a shitton of sweet buffs, and nowadays they are comparable to inquisitors in the dps department. I love my templar but I will say that there have been nights when I just wished I were still an inq for that mythical....

Re: Betrayal
Well I'm not the fastest in the world but I am almost done with the betrayal and it will have taken me about 4 hours total. I did the Qeynos line and just did the big payoff quests. I ended up getting about 3 AA's in the process so it was good.
I never had any problem healing as an inquisitor but let me tell you what I did notice.
After hearing all the buildup of how much dps an inquistor could do I was excited to try it out. My gear is nowhere near the best but I did try a few times to see how much I could get. Unless I was reading it wrong I never once broke 800 and my average if I had to heal some was around 300. This was after I changed my AA to the INT line for casting speed from the AGI line. So I see it could have been slightly higher.
The state the game is now the 1k dps I could do (without having to heal) is nowhere near as benifical as the increased healing of the templar. This is just my opinion and I'm sure some will disagree.
