Default Pre-healing for pull

What do you cast before pull (raid mobs)? I was told recently that I shouldn't need a 10 second incoming call and I'm willing to at least explore the possibility that I'm wrong so am curious how other people do it.

As Templars we have a lot of things we can use to pre-heal and I tend to think the more the better. I'm posting from work but best I can remember I cast the following pretty much in this order.

Holy Intercession (group reactive)
Vital Intercession (single reactive)
Repent (ward)
Shield of Faith - choker ward even if not needed for the AE type
Reverence - if there's time to squeeze it in - not a big deal but figure can't hurt
Santuary

What do you guys use? I keep thinking I should use Repent earlier so it's up again sooner but haven't managed to change the habit yet.

I precast all my stuff on raid mobs. If the raid is organized the tank knows what he needs to do and what tools he needs to bring to the fight, including what heals are on him on the pull.

1. Holy Intercession, Vital Intercession, and Repent (Because they have quick reuse timers, I ALWAYS keep them up inbetween fights so I don't need as much time to buff.)

2. Shield of Faith

3. Sanctuary

4. Holy Shield (On myself as the tank is running back with the mob.)

5. Divine Light (Mythical buff, as Repent ticks off.)

I save Reverence just in case the prewarding timing is off a bit, or some moron pulls aggro while the mob is coming back and I need to make sure they heal themself while I focus on making sure we don't wipe on the pull.

that dude that told you, that you dont need a 10sec inc timer should frigging go ask the mystic, but the mystic will prolly stab him for that question.

obviously you need at least 10sec to precast all the stuff you mentioned (only thing to add are both single heals if hateshield hasnt procced on the tank from the reactives+repent to make sure hateshield is on the tank on inc)

its basically the same with mystics, they gotta unload 2 pets, 2 wards, 2 directheals (which temporarily increase maxhealth) and whatnot.

maybe you got that person wrong and he was refering to trash mobs. if pulling trash, you dont need to pre-cast anything. hitting repent while the tank comes back with the mob will be enough most of the times (when the shaman is not afk :P)

so either: whoever told you so needs to play a priest or needs to express himself better :D

I hate my tank's 3 second rush warning on some mobs. To be even remotely ready, I have to precast and keep active like 4 spells before he even says anything. On one mob in particular, I want to precast 7 spells. It's bad when I don't pay attention and forget to get the 4 running ahead of time.

I like when I get told in group to cast a specific pre-spell that I -always- cast for everything (except for one mob where it has to be timed). That's really my favorite. No, really. Really.

Mostly, I keep group reactive and shield of faith up at all times, even during downtime. It makes the precasting less stressful.

I am the Tank that Jenarie is griping about. I do give 10 second incoming on Names. Trash should not need an incoming call. Who wants to sit there and give 10 seconds on every trash mob?

I have played a mystic, templar, warden, inquisitor. Say what you want but I have never found it that necessary for a count on trash in any situation.

BTW, she is the first healer thats ever complained at me about 10 second counts on trash.

Reverence? I removed that from my hotbar.

And casting Shield of Faith, Holy Shield and Sanctuary always pre-pull, even if not necessary? What about learning what the mob can, and can not, do? That's like putting on your bicycle helmet in the house...

I cast Repent, group reactive, ST reactive on normal mobs and bosses. Otherwise I save my other stuff for unforeseen events...

That's cool with me. /shrug Most healers watch what their tank does, and when he targets a trash mob, he normally intends to pull it. That should be enough.

This wasn't a gripe it was a sincere attempt to find out information. There's a lot I could say here but this board isn't for guild bullshit it's for templar information.

Edit for anyone reading this later 'cause 'the tank' edited his:
I wasn't complaining or asking for a 10 second incoming on trash and it's unfortunate that he chose to take a quest for information personally. This thread was clearly stated to be about raid mobs (by which I meant named). If there's a better way for me to be doing things I want to know it.
