Wow. You must have quite low WIS then. I gain about 150 if I put it on myself

I almost always put it on myself. How many encounters even use a resist check? Doubt it's many.

Diminishing returns start to effect you at 510. At around 700ish? it is almost completely pointless to buff str.

I mean honestly, you can't say the reason you won that hard encounter was because the MT had 300 more resist because you put your Celestial Praetorate on the MT.

#1 it depends on how well geared your is... before I was in a harder core raiding guild I was in a pick up raid where they had a templar in the MT group that didnt put it on the MT. I sent him a tell to put it on the MT and things seemed to go alot smoother.

#2 I agree 150 power isnt alot... I'd rather give the tank more resists... the more resists he has the more attacks he resists or less he gets hit for the less mana I need to waste healing.. therefore I think thats 150 power well spent.

#3 My zerker friend I believe gets more use out of the 129str then I would.

It's a shitty buff period and not even worth debating whom it should be casted on. Very few hard hitting ae's if any use resists as a check and in general, mt's don't benefit from more str. Cast it on whoever the fuck you want, it doesn't make you a bad templar.

#1 That definately wasn't the reason for things to go smoother.

#2 Refer to Oopo's post.

#3 A zerker raid buffed usually has well over 800 STR. Refer to Art's post.

You're probably one of those templars that just stands at max range on every fight and just heals. There's no possible way you can argue that 128 STR is more beneficial on the majority of raid content to a zerker who is approaching the cap then it is to a templar who has 20% double attack, decent haste/dps mods (because you're grouped with the zerker), 100% melee crits and well under 600 in STR so they actually see some benefit to the +128 in STR. This doesn't even take in account that you actually increase your max power from the WIS.

my idea. CP on the MT gives 3 benefits. On you it gives 2 small benefits.

You = little bit more power and a little bit more resist.

Tank = harder attacks, more power, better resists.

The tank doesn't get more power from CP. Only you do.
You = More power, More resist, Harder attacks.
Tank = Diminishing returns curve, maybe 0.001% more dps/hate, marginal resists.

And if the mob your fighting has no AEs, why exactly do you stand out of range and not attack? You do realize you can do roughly 400+ dps with just autoattack while chain healing if need be, right?
