lol @ http://www.eq2flames.com/mystics/478...c-fun-you.html
Templar = best heals
Inquis = more fun/misc. abilities
Mystic = as fun (or more so) than inquis/fewer misc abilities, better heals than inquis imo/experience
and don't forget
Warden = soon to pwn all in heals (with HoT revamp, they will be un touchable [solohealing] in fights where you don't get 1 shotted, esp with AoEs)

Re: Whats fun about playing Templar?
Playing a templar is fun because I can solo heal any heroic content (Ferzhul before the nerf f.e.), and because there are so many heal and heal-like abilities that after I betrayed from inquisitor to templar, I was shocked to see the arsenal a templar has in comparison. There are 2 spells which should be noted in particular, both single target debuff: the first one procs a small heal when the enemy is hit, the second one procs a small aoe heal and cures trauma when the mob hits a person. These 2 lotto heals can make up a substantial amount of hps, and are very easily kept up through an entire fight.
What I miss when playing at templar are meaningful debuffs. We got a MIT debuff and a divine resist debuff, and that's it. We can get some other stuff through AAs though: a dps and a skill debuff and other stuff I dunno.
A templar has quite decent CC abilities. Soothe is an overlooked spell which is quite powerful in solo and heroic content. Single target stun and daze were king in ROK instances; I used to be able to go through the entirety of Chelsith trash without actually healing. Templars also get a mez through AA. Handy for adds with a crappy pug tank. All this is irrelevant for raids and TSO instances now, alas.
Also, templars get very useful anti-CC abilities, foremost Sanctuary (group CC immunity), the stun immunity proc from our mythicals, a single target AOE blocker, and of course Steadfast, granting stifle and interrupt immunity, which is pretty amazing. When I get iced on Mynzak, I can sometimes keep casting because I am stun+stifle immune at the same time. I can also heal the add group on Zarrakon and rez them and don't get interrupted like other healers.
Templar dps can be pretty good too, with the right gear and AAs. On Palace trash, numbers from 5k upward are entirely possible. It's easy to max out MC, DA, and get a good chunk of dps and haste, all self buffed. Then there's +weapon dmg and flurry from AAs. If you use mage gear to boost spell damage in addition to your already very nice autoattack, you can see nice numbers flying. One of our damage spells does double damage against undead, which is sweet. Despite all of this, I dont particularly enjoy dpsing on a templar, it's boring. I rolled a templar to heal, and that is where they're fun for me.
Gear wise, templars can equip all sorts of armor, which means they can use the overpowered gloves and helm from Shard of Hate, along with all good chain and leather items. Templar survivability is ace due to high HPs and good MIT.

Re: Whats fun about playing Templar?
Heh, for the first time i'm agree with Lessing:p Just want to add-templars and pallys only classes in game who can solo Kos raid mobs atm:p This achievment is for e-pen only ofc, but still ^^
And for me personaly, main thing in templar his tougnes,he's immunity to cc effects and ability to survive and continue his work where rest of healers will be dead.

After reading the description of the changes in the Warden forum I thought the changes were great. It's only something clerics have been after for years(getting something out of the 100% wasted triggers). If the 2nd tick of a regen heals nothing, the third could heal double to compensate? The fourth could heal triple? Not to mention the first tick is always larger due to +heal(which is why I didn't start there) and it converts to a group heal at the end? I thought it sounded great... but reading their comments in that forum... I just don't think you can please them... it's funny.

Re: Whats fun about playing Templar?
The only way the regen revamp will be effective is if druids get a fairly big hp buffs.

Re: Whats fun about playing Templar?
Heh, and that was the tone in the other thread... but I'm not sure if I see it. Though perhaps you mean druid revamp in general and not regen revamp... because I don't see them being the same. But in the scope of regens, they don't seem happy with it changing.

Re: Whats fun about playing Templar?
the point behind a regen seems to make most druids upset (it seems like)...they are supposed to be wasteful, and have lots of ticks to make up for it, which is why I'm puzzled at the fact that they're upset their heals are inefficient.
whereas their group heals make shaman and cleric group heals look like nothing at all; AoE hits a cleric's group and everyone gets healed for something like 1-1.5k? shamans prevent about the same, and druids have groups 6-10k healed in 6 seconds; if they get our single heals we should get their group heals :P lol
Anyways....didn't mean to derail the thread :P
