Templar Power Management Thread
Hi All,
1st I want to make sure that I am not making any unfounded assumptions. I have found that Templars are Power Whores. They burn power like a mofo. Have you found this to be true?
2nd if this statement is true how do you all manage your power through out a raid. Obviously Shards, Hearts, and Power Regen Classes assist with this. Casting Vitae, and Holy Intercession along with repent gives you some time regen power and still heal, but am I missing something. I feel like I burn power a lot quicker than any other toon in the raid. Finally I use Profit UI so I only cast Vitae and intercession when they are no longer cast. Other than this should I be looking for any thing else, or is there any gear you can recommend to help no burn so much power?
I'll sit back and watch the discussion.
Thanks,
Juliana

Re: Templar Power Management Thread
I too would be interested in knowing what gear works best for helping with power.
I wear the Mystical Aura Chainmail off the 1st name in VP often to help with power. Doesn't work as well as it did b4 the proc nerf but it helps. Sometimes tho I wish I had some other item with a good power proc so I could wear a better bp...
I was thinking maybe the bidding for the Cruel Trinket of Treachery next time it drops and was wondering if it's worth it still?

Neck from Kultak, Belt from Zarrakon.
Since I have Avatar gear I use the Neck from Kultak, Neutral Avatar Belt, and Good Avatar Earring. I don't think I could run out of power if I was sprinting.

Yes, templars are power whores and we only priest class that don't have any ability to help us with mana replenish. But, as was mention above, tso gear(especially raid items) can totaly solve this problem.

I thought that quote deserved to be here.
Anyways, there's some low-end stuff that can help you with mana, like the Girdle of the Di'Zok spirit, and the Soulshattering Band. Since, I don't have access to Zarrakon or those other mobs up on the TSO foodchain, I usually just rely on an Enchanter in group or whine about it until the raid leader gives me one.

>Soulshattering Band
is not worth a damn anymore (except soloing) since they nerfed intercepting damage and those power-use-feedbacks :/
on another note, i havent seen much power coming from inquest since the proc change or w/e... long story short keeping power up has really become an issue, if theres no coercer or mystic around i usually end up with wearing 3-4 manawell items on those fights where i dont get to hit the mob at all (i.e. almost no illy power regen)
kultaks neck would be nice, havent seen it drop yet tho

yup since proc change and mortal coil nerf i've had to go back in to KC and grab those manawell items again. had muted them last expac
to the OP: Get the other healers in the group to put on pondwash (or pondwash + belt from guk). One pondwash in group is kinda /meh. 3 is still pretty nice.

Siphoning Sapphire Earring from Karnor's is a cheap fill in for power intensive fights

Re: Templar Power Management Thread
Personally my issue is it used to be beneficial to spam as many group spells as possible since procs would heal for 60-70% of my total healing. I started casting the group direct heal every time it refreshed, and I never went below 90% power.
Now things have changed. I had to retrain myself to not cast a spells just to try for a proc. Cast group reactives more often. It has been a few tiers since I have had to deal with power management and there are only a few fights where it really matters.

Re: Templar Power Management Thread
If you're a tinkerer, Overclocked Manastone still helps a lot (90% chance). Crits for like 3.5k-4k last time, at least for me.
