Sadly I am no longer a Templar.. there was some changes made since I wrote that post to AA's and the such, regarding your weapons now, plus some other things I am sure. I could research and update the whole thing, or I could ask LFG to give you access to edit my post.. I'm a mystic now.. I really miss being a Templar though /sigh..

I'm not writing Mystic Guide though, fuck that. Besides the fact that I am not overly fond of the class in a whole, I've only been one for about 3 weeks (Was a Defiler for about 6 months before that). So maybe I will change my mind.

Alright, I looked at the last ZW of a raid I was in and the numbers were too embarassing (especially since I felt like I could throw a couple of nukes in the mix because we pretty much had the combat under control.)

So I need to find a quick way to boost my dps. Most of my gear is OK for someone just starting to raid, but I want to know how many of you melee to get your dps or does it come from your nukes? (In other words, should I boost my INT or STR?) What is the best way to correct this quickly?

Not sure if someone ever helped you out with this. I by no means parse as much as some of the people on this board, but I can do ok.

In answer to your question about whether or not you should melee, if the mob has an AE and you can survive it then definitely. Even if you're spam healing in that case, you'll still get your auto-attack swings in.

So far as what stat to work on, str or int. I would really say it all depends on the group make up you tend to have and how much time you feel you have to Nuke. If you're spam healing, because of the way your raid handles encounters, but would still like to contribute, focus on Str. If you find yourself with plenty of time to look at your belly-button lint, then definitely work on Int. Some Templars get the mage group, so Int is a lot easier to come by, others are in the OT group with a dirge and a mystic, so str is not a major concern. Essentially you're looking for a good balance between the 2.

Here are some gear choices that might help you that are extremely easy to get:
2hder-Blackscale Maul
rings- Pristine Imbued Ring of Str
Belt- BCG
Cloak- Sol Ro(can always go back to Tunare once you get the cloak and sacrifice stuff to get blessings and miracles again).

Having looked at your AAs, you'll get a much larger dps benefit taking your int down to 4 points and adding 4 points to Melee crits in the Sta line.

Finally, if you do find yourself with time to not heal, then chain nuke so long as you can afford the power.

Sorry it took so long for you to get an answer here. I am not the greatest authority on deepeez, but hopefully this starts you off in the right direction

GoB is an extra free heal... you don't have to spend pow casting. Aside from the fact you have no idea when it will hit, it is still a free heal. Sometimes it will over heal, but sometimes it does hit when you need it to hit. Its nice when soloing, a crit GoB can hit for 800-900 which is nice boost when soloing and in a group.
