Default Gu 37 and the Templar class

Test server updates from friday, july 29th, 2007.

Templar
  • Blessing: Reduced bonus from 25% to 20%.
  • Mana Cure: Can be cast on a raid ally. Cure effect is applied to the Templar's group.
  • Enhance: Sign of Pacification: Improved resistibility reduction from 3% to 5% per rank.
  • Enhance: Soothe: Hate reduction applies to all your non-fighter allies. Hate amount reduced to compensate. Also improves casting speed by 0.1 seconds per rank.
  • Overconfidence: Improved reuse speed from 3 minutes to 2 minutes. Increased duration from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Improved casting speed from 1 second to 0.5 seconds. Reduced trigger count to 1, but effect will not reduce trigger count unless enemy strikes a non-fighter ally.
The blessings reduction will hurt a little but nothing major.

Nice improvements on sign for grouping. But not much affecting the majority of raid templars at all.

Hmmm, mana cure might be worth the 5 extra aa's now I suppose. For avatar fights anyway.

Im assuming you wouldn't rely on mana cure to actually cure anything thou right? It would still be a random chance at the cure affecting you?

Yeah, it seems the only thing they're changing RE: Mana cure is the target. IIRC currently you can only cast it on someone in your own group, and your group still got the random chance for a cure. Now the target is anyone in raid... /yawn

IMO Random = unreliable.
Why waste the AA on it when you can't rely on it working?
/shrug
IMO its a pointless update to that spell.

Maybe if it was something like:
Can be cast on raid member
and
When that raid member casts a spell your group receives a group cure of that type.

/grin
Then it would totally be worth it i think.

It'd only waste 5 aa that I haven't spent anyway. I could put it in nukes that i don't cast or spurn that the other templar already has, but that wouldn't do too much. I specifically said it would be nice for avatars because of their dmg shield stun that I don't waste my time curing. For that it would be worth putting 5 otherwise worthless aa's into. Hell it'd work for Mayong too with all the stunning adds.

Mana Cure has worked wonders for my groups at times... Raids, though, not so much.
