Default Test, post LU 39

Well I guess the biggest point in this LU was SoF. We tested what we could, got the difficulty bumped up as much as was allowed, Oh and believe me most of us wanted it much harder. You have to understand, we know damn good and well that what is an average challenge for us here will be laughed at on live. The gear we scrape and claw for on Test can be obtained much easier on live. Man what I would give for a live broker to be in test for just one day.

It's kind of a slow time on test really. The NDA being what it is I can't say who or how many, but there seems to be a chunk of people missing. Add to that the general burnout from being at the same lvl for so long and we are looking at a seriously low population. Something to keep in mind as well. If you are wanting to try out the new race, once it hits live, the 6 slots you get on Test don't count towards your live accounts total.

well we appreciate the testing of course, but it isnt your fault when you /feedback for a much harder difficulty and only get it bumped up a little. that's soe for all the casuals out there :S

about nda, dont think there exists any on test server anyway, as everyone who has an active eq2 account can just create a char there and experience it for him-/herself. the best thing till now was the /pvp_test thingy command add stuff to test out the big dw -> 1h changes which was fairly nice, although i missed an armor merchant to test out several crit/dps/haste setups to really see if there is something badly coded or a certain weapon combination totally overpowered.

also i think there should be something like that on test server, meaning weapon/armor/jewelry merchant, to actually test the stuff with items, which are obtainable, but rather hard to get on a low populated server.

so far i think the test community did a good job, although sony didnt change enough for live :S

On the NDA, I meant for Beta.

Except for certain circumstances the devs rarely ask us to keep quiet about anything going on in Test. They know it would be hard to pull one over on live since anyone can see the notes and make a toon to check it out.

As someone who's taken a dump in Brega's cheerios here in the past, I can say that I'm in total agreement about LU39. If the Shard of Fear came out less than desirable to the Live players, it's not because the Test folks didn't say anything.

The whole thing felt rushed to get it out before the serious Kunark testing started, so if it's a little weak that's better than too strong and dropping loot that is too powerful. It's a victory that SoF didn't come out in Trivial Mode - not that it won't end up that way soon after Kunark anyway.
