yeah dude you dont even know whats going on in the test servers the wipe isnt b/c of the bot. A dev, without permission, was giving out high end loots such as avatar/mayong items to just anyone and everyone thus corrupting that server where he was ultimately fired. way to keep up with whats going on.

I've played on live servers and the test server off and on since the game opened. I prefer the test server -- it's a smaller, closer-knit community and people are more willing to help each other. I don't know anything about the bot scandal, and frankly, I don't care. I raid weekly with my guild and use the broker whenever I log on. In fact, Widem is the first crybaby I've seen in regards to Test.

Who was talking (or even cares) about the wipe or why it happened, I certainly wasn't. The thread I linked and my point was simply, how players behave after getting free levels and gear on a server that has no consequences and how much testing comes out of it.

Test server should be nothing more than people who are selected for testing the game on an NDA at all times. There should be no community, no giving shit away, no meet and greets, and no casual chilling out. There should be constant work and testing going on, and the Test server, or whatever it is should be moved live so that people CAN test the shit.
There should be a Level Buff Bot, a Gear selector, and spell quality selector. People should be required to test several levels per week of new changes, and anything old that could possibly be changed. Also, the account should be free to test.
What passes as a test server now is a sad excuse for a server in ANY game as far as utilizing assets, population, and overall gameplay.

That is exactly how the internal Test server is. But you think testing is such a awesome pastime, that people should pay SOE to work their butts off for them on the public test server as well? Somehow I do not think that will fly.. but thats just my opinion. You seem to expect an aweful lot of work from folks who pay the same amount to play the game as you, how much work testing are you willing to put in for the $15 or whatever you pay them a month?

Lao gave up playing on the test server after having an arguement about his views in test chat. He was in Raiders guild but left after some of us tried to help him with gear, spells and stuff. So far as I know ...Lao doesn't play EQ2 anymore. Sorry Lao but when you decide to come back to Test and be part of the solution and not the problem then you can sit and argue with us about what is wrong with test. As I told Widem...put your money where your mouth is because for the present the situation will not change. SOE has shown that they will not bring the buffer back nor will they bring back allowing copies to test. In the meantime we will keep trying to get SOE to try a different approach, tho it may be a while before anything of use comes about.

This whole thing i too fucking funny. I played on test for a couple years, till the suck ass Lucky thing started. People got free gear, duh, UT would suck a dick for any reason.
I for one saw it coming and left a long time ago, not a big suprise. Live servers will not be as good to the UT clan, it's more skill than who you service.
