Default Why?

this makes them feel like a real community when in fact this server should be the cum dumpster of EQ2.

your not a real server you are a server intended for testing and i cant beleive its not wiped every couple months or so.

Like it or not, Widem, the EQ2 staff have decided to run the Test server differently. They have actively promoted running the Test server like a live server, and probably have a more loyal base of players for it.

They do seem to be running PvP Test like you suggest, though. It was wiped shortly after GU36 went live.

well its not a live server...there is no raiding there is no broker you guys have it fucked up beyond all recongnition...its a group of subpar gamers under the guise of testing...shit has gone live that was blatently obvious it was broken. you guys dont test shit...you run around doing quests and when you cant progress you feedback and say hehehehe im testing yay.

In defense of the Test population, you can't lay all the blame on them for broken things making it to Live. I have personal experience in reporting things as being broken right after it was put on Test, continuing to report it as broken (both in /bug reports and telling QA directly about it) and still see it make it to Live in a broken state. Testers can only point out what is wrong. Developers and coders have to correct it before it hits Live, which the Testers have no control over.

Yeah, that was an amazing success... a real accolade to what happens on a server that no one has ties to: Current behaviour on PvP Test

Pretty similar story to DAOC Test and many other games that let people copy, buff up, etc... on their Test server. Each system of running a Test server has its pluses and minuses. Problem with most methods is, in the end most folks get sick of going there, then the server sits empty 24x7 with nobody testing anything at all.

oh ya you mean the dev that was giving out free gear that got fired. people here are smart enough to know why things got fucked up there and why they were wiping it. you had 1 person on the dev team indiscriminately handing out shit to the masses for fun and for no testing purposes whatsoever.

The buff bot was not some rogue dev, it was put there on purpose to promote the kind of testing people like you have asked for. Do you just make everything up on the fly to try and support your unfounded claims, or do you occassionaly actually have a point in fact?

Or did you miss the entire day of drama and speculation as to who the person was that was removed from SOE developing team for creating the buff bot on PVP Test. The thread and poll are HERE in case you, in all your infinite wisdom missed it...
