Default Re: Good Rok harvesting areas ?

I am 75 adventure level now and I have not found any area that has enough resources to harvest from. Most of the harvesting items are scattered about in such a random order they are hard to find and limited in quality.

The less items to harvest means less rares to tradeskill with and the market vaules will be set too high to afford to buy them. I have 5 level 70 tradeskillers and I threw in my tradeskiller hat when I saw the lack of barren areas and saw how far apart they were scattered.

I'll hit the nodes while I adventure and if i find a rare i'll sell it and buy my master spells and i'll adventure for the rest.

I saw a post on the eq2 official forums about this problem and I agree with the op that there are just not enough resources to support the crafters without them stumbling all over each other for the few that are there. However, many disagreed with the op on the forum and I feel the same way, its a waste of time to run around for hours with little to show for your work and few rares in your bag to make spells etc with. Unless soe changes the harvest zones I wont try to tradeskill since its just too much trouble and time consuming.

Tons of them in the plains area of Jarsath. The grassy area in the Kylong end of Fens isn't bad either.

Lots of dens right by the gorillas near abandoned city in the jungle.

Rocks in waste just north of shipyard by the fish people seem pretty good.

Wood, i just go west of the outer seb residents in jungle, about 8-10 nodes there.

As far as fish the river in jungle that zones in from lens down in the south is free of hostiles and lot of nodes.

Roots, i haven't really found 1 good place, I've harvested some in wastes and some in jungle but nothing that has a huge abundance of nodes in 1 area.

Lot of areas do have several node types close by so just depends on what you need ot harvest at the time.

I need loams, so I concentrate on rocks & geodes for that little extra bit of profit. If you ever want bunches of both, try some caves in any RoK outdoor area. If you DONT want risk with the abundance, this ain't for you.

The Drachnid cave in KP is a prime spot, with almost all the mobs within greyed out at 80. This is fairly obvious though, and will soon be swamped.

Venril's Crown is an openly visible crater in Jarsath with plenty of nodes, and even more mobs standing guard. They have uncommonly longer aggro ranges, so stay sharp.

My personal favorites are the Burynai & Quatcha caves in KJ. Quite the abundance of nodes, and I get to play Whack-a-Mole as well. Keeps me productive, and on my toes.

I often find that the best harvest spots are earned. SoE did good with the Rock/Ore situation this time, no easy monopoly here like in Sinking Sands.

All good info,
I've had good luck with the fish in the above mentioned area in kj near the lower zone in from fens (near the sokokor post). Also for roots the area near the big water wheel seems to be decent , except for them nasty hornets. Pelts - near the tattered gorrilas/ quanchas. Stones - quancha caves (so far). Wood - near the outer seb residents south ? entrance . Bushes - where Mheryl said above - around the kj druid ring.

Best fishing spot I've found is the first lake and river in Kylong plains, right past the docks.
