Default Snippets about the faction crafting quests

TONS of posts on the eq2 forums so I scanned them and got us some snippets to explain what's gonig on with the faction writs. Been getting a lot of in game tells from people about it so I did some investigating. Here we go--

MOST IMPORTANT SNIP IMO--The amount of faction the writs give you is also going to be raised a bit, most likely this will happen early next week. (Domino posted this on 11/16)

Player asks-So, after playing around with these things, it seems they are only for doing the tradeskill faction writs for the bathezids? Are there any actual quested or faction recipes for scholars like the provisioners can get with their infusions and such?
<!-- Edit Notes --><!-- Attachments --> Domino- There will be. We had to postpone a few things from inclusion with RoK release due to the fire delays, and this was one of them.

From Domino-The sokokar quest is totally and in all ways unrelated to the faction quest lines started by Greeblentus. The sokokar quest gives you a sokokar. This makes it easier to get around. That's all it does. You don't have to have it, you don't need it, it's not a prerequisite for anything. It's just a convenience. Yay.

If you do happen to get a sokokar, which, let me say it yet again, has nothing whatsoever to any other crafting quest on the entire continent and is entirely optional, there are two ways you can do it. If you're a high enough adventurer, Borbin Happens will give you an adventure-oriented quest for it. If you're not a high enough adventurer but you are a 65+ crafter, then Borbin's assistant Jones will give you a crafting version of the quest. The reward is exactly the same sokokar.

Now, whether or not you did a sokokar quest of any type, or are allergic to sokokars, or decided to feed your sokokar to trolls, or have a moral objection to the exploitation of sokokar labour and have sworn never to ride one ever in your life, in other words absolutely in no way anything to do with sokokars or the lack thereof ... there is an ogre in Teren's Grasp who can put level 70+ crafters in touch with some folks in Kunark who need some help with their war preparations. All you have to do to get his quests is be a 70+ crafter. If you go back to him around level 75 you may find he has more work too.

Edit: and the advanced books are sold at amiable faction, that's 10,000.

From Patch notes- Hotfix November / 15 / 2007
TRADESKILLS Essentials level 70-79 recipes books are now for sale in Neriak. Sage and Alchemist level 70 writs should now be asking for different spells. The provision cache near the Bathezid Watch is now more accessible to crafters doing the New Lands, New Profits quest. Completing the High Risks, Higher Profits - Part 2 quest should allow you to enter Danak harbor without fearing for you life for trying to help the crafters.

From Domino-It is not possible for crafters to raise their faction far enough to make any difference in Teren's Grasp. There are adventurer quests that will do it, but those folks aren't too interested in crafting and have no rewards for crafters either. They do stock the "essentials" books, but hey, you can buy those back home anyway.

Finishing New Lands, New Profits should make you non-KOS with the Bathezid sarnaks and the Riliss iksar. These are the folks who will sell your advanced books (at least the ones up to 75) and the extra provisioner recipes, and these are two of the camps at which crafters can raise their factions higher. Until you finish that quest, they will not be friendly. Even when you do finish that quest, other faction camps of sarnaks and iksars will remain unimpressed. Kunark's not a very huggy friendly place, really.
Player asks-So, can we only get books 70-75 in this manner? or are the others atainable elswhere?
Domino answers!-70-75 from Bathezid or Riliss, 76-79 from Danak.

What are the names of the NPCs?

Do you specifically need tradeskill faction to buy the books, or if you have good adventure faction there, can you buy the provisioner recipies in particular?

10k positive faction needed, there is no tradeskill faction, there's just faction, so either adventure or ts work is fine.

I don't know the names of the npcs to buy the recipes from but they are the faction merchants in each area, I believe they're called Quartermasters? I'll try to get a name and loc up here later today.
