Default Vitality

How many have been crafting without vitality? I just can't bring myself to do it... even though I have a lot of experience potions.

Also, is it just me or does it seem like vitality is gaining unevenly? Perhaps it's just been ages since I've crafted seriously. Also, my husband has more than I do. Any ideas why? He's been doing writs and I'm a Sage so I still have a few levels of new recipes that I never completed.

I've done a bit, but when I run out of vitality I just do writs, which, I don't believe use vitality on the final turn in. I'm a jeweler, so I get a fair number of recipes, but not near enough to level, even with vitality, so what I normally do is writ for a while, then I may craft a few of my "discovery" items, just for a break.

As for vitality gain. No idea.

All my crafters had a varying amount of vitality when the expansion began. The only thing I can figure is this-- we're still gaining vitality even if we're max level crafters, and using it too. So the more we crafted (orders, etc) the less vitality we had.

Just a guess, I have no other explanation!

Oh, and I have been crafting without vitality, for the first time ever. What I was doing on Mher (tailor) was popping an exp potion when I gained a level after making sure I had enough resources and fuel on me, then I did all the first time combines and once those were done, finished out the potion with timed writs. Seemed to work well for her.

The only way I grind my sage as a matter of policy is with vitality and discos ONLY. This paces me and keeps me from getting bored. I won't win a race this way but my original wizard got to 70 sage this way and I barely noticed.

An enchanter epic weapon without subjugation is like a Buckeyes T-shirt without the colors scarlet and gray.

Pretty much ditto for me on my Provisioner. I spent lvl 70 doing the sokokar and New Lands quests and that got me pretty far... I then started grinding the faction writs for Bathezide. Oy! I think I got a level doing that, but it took forever and was just head banging on wall frustrating. I gave up and hope the faction goes up soon. I don't trust SOE to give us credit for writs already completed. I switched to doing Ironforge writs for the rest of my leveling.

I'm at 77 now, and pop a potion, do the first time bonus (and might have up to 5% vitality) and that will get me 25-30% in to the level, then I do timed writs - by the time the potion runs out I'm about 80-90% and I finish off making food/drink to sell/give away. I've been using one potion per level - but I think I only have one left. I just want to get to 79. I'll get to 80 eventually.

I'm ok with the time it is taking (about an hour and 20 minutes) per level, but I'm really going through the raws. Mostly barracuda and succulent petals.

Still seeing a huge difference in what raws we use... I've got like 20 recipes that use cranberries, and 3 that use tea leaves. I'm not sure why they can't get this right.
