Re: Yay, or not?
For me I want it to be a challenge without it being a grind. I want to be proud that I can say I have 7 level 80 tradeskillers and not have someone remind me that any monkey could do it. I want choices in the way I get ts levels and I want some of those choices to be a HUGE challenge, not a HUGE grind. Grind does not equal challenge, nor does it make us feel rewarded at the end.
Right now, I can grind. With writs or without writs. If I want more recipes I can grind writs that don't give my guild a lick of exp. I can do a couple quests (at great peril to me at lower levels) for the right to do those writs that give me a few recipes and no guild exp. but at least they give me some tradeskill exp. Step in the right direction.
There's a new quest on test right now for tsers. You harvest bushes (ad nauseum, mind you) to get dishes for your house. It gives tradeskill exp, and that's another step in the right direction I think. I'm really hoping to see even more FUN ways to get exp in tradeskilling other than just making the same few items over and over, staring at the same ts device.
Oooh, just thought of something that could be a twist to the harvest for dishes quest.. since there's a glut of lower level rares not getting used, maybe if you pick up a rare while doing that quest you could grab a "crystal" dish or something similar as a reward.
I dunno, just thinking out loud here about the whole situation. I know I'm not feeling satisfied yet, but it's getting better.
