Yay, or not?
I just did my first tradeskilling for this expansion. Nothing to serious yet, just crafted the first 4 lvl 70 items for carpenter, and did some TS writs in my spare time.
Together with the new system I think TS-ing got easy mode.
It allready was soo easy that it was impossible not to make a rush order, or not to make a pristine combine, but now its so easy that you do not have to check anything.
There is no power mannagement anymore.
There is no need to check quality anymore.
There is no need to counter events anymore (was allready not really needed).
At least when you adventure there is the risk of dying and repair costs. The risk is real because of the interactive surroundings. (or should be real, or whatever) TS has no more surroundings. There is recipes, and 6 buttons.....and thats it.
Writs can be done by just spamming the six buttons within 2 minutes without countering any events.
Can I become level 80 w/o failing due to boredom?
Is there any need to become level 80 at all? (HQ's, epics...whatnot) ?

Re: Yay, or not?
Don't know about 80, 75 is for adornments, so getting most of my army to 75 first then on to 80 when i have teh time.
Most the rush orders i can get done by the time i hit teh 4 min mark. Watching TV i tend to get closer to teh 3 min mark.

Re: Yay, or not?
I think everyone is busy getting the kinks worked out of what we have before we begin to complain (again) that it's too easy.
It's a brand new system and it still needs work. There are other things on the table right now keeping it from being worked on, Frostfell, the faction recipes, etc, but I don't for a minute believe that it will be left this easy. I use almost no power, and the only reason I've failed a timed writ is because I talk way too much! Potions and poisons are already on the broker in the thousands with even the Experts up for around a gold each in some cases. I'm sure the afk crafting is rampant now.
Yeah, not thrilled about being a joke atm, but I hold out faith that it'll be a challenge again once there's time to fix it.

I'm still very angry that my first crafting toon took 2+ months to get to 50, crafting 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, and after DOF was introduced, it became possible to level max any crafter in less than 2 weeks.
Crafting at first meant something in this game, being a high level crafter was very prestigious. Then they killed it.
Hopefully Domino will fix things. I doubt it will ever be changed back to what it was. I'd be satisfied if weaponsmithing was changed so that it was a useful craft again.

edit - 75-80 took me 3.5 hours.

While perhaps not quite as masochistic as LFG, a fair amount of of us have been complaining...well, forever. A couple reasons you don't see visible outrage are that tradeskillers, especially with Domino now, are used to a fairly civil, non-hellfire, brimstone and apocalypse discussion; that those that couldn't do it before, still can't(check the rush order complaints that still exist); and that a major source of the ease is the process itself. The last one is going to take some time to do anything about and we all know Domino has ideas, it's just going to take time.
Tradeskills have been a joke since launch, the difference between then and now is that more people are in on it.

My best time yet for zero to 70 was 4 days on a sage.

Re: Yay, or not?
I don't even bother crafting without vitality or exp potions so I have no idea how fast you can do it now. But like anything, if you put your mind to it and do it exclusive of anything else, I'm sure you can go fast. I'm not that kinda masochist
I know it will get changed, the newest ts overhaul is BRAND new, and came at the launch of the expansion just about, and now we have Frostfell to worry about, and also new recipes from the faction merchants in Kunark for all the other tsers besides provisioners who already got them. Also a new mastercrafted overhaul happening on test atm.
Give Domino a break. It's happening, but she's only one Goddess with the same 24 hours in a day that the rest of us have.
