How much dough you bringing home?
Was wondering which are the most profitable professions right now.
Also is it true that Weaponsmiths and Armorers take the longest to level up?

Weaponsmith from 70 - 80 took around 10hrs for reference, or maybe that's just me, since I was suprised to be the 4th Weaponsmith to 80 WW after 80 Adventurer in RoK. (Or it could be that Weaponsmith is a lame class)

Re: How much dough you bringing home?
I hate the forge, prolly a leftover from the days when if you turned your head for a minute and missed a reaction you'd find yourself laying dead in front of it.
I haven't been selling more of one thing or another in t8-- alchemist is always good, but don't expect to get rich, people don't wanna pay for the stuff, they just want it to be there for them to buy. Adornments sell steadily but you need a big selection from across all the trades to make it work. Tailor I think might have the best selling adornments, followed by carpenter, then jeweler, then ww IMO.
If you have time and like to tradeskill, pick up any skill where you make consumables. Price them right, don't let the undercutters win (I go and buy them out when I'm of a mind to, and resell), and you'll have a loyal customer base forever.

I leveled my weaponsmith to 75 on Kith so I could make the mirror things. Took about 4 hours to get from 70 to 75 doing writs.
Basically, all classes take the same time to level now if you level doing writs.

During the original release, people made fun of me alot because my kill to death ratio was like 2:1 for mobs lol. And that's because forge deaths were counted in that ratio. The "forge" was always listed in the top 40 of player deaths, when players deaths by specific NPCs were listed on eq2players.
Yeah, it used to be that two failed counters back to back on the forge was death. I didn't mind it actually, because it kept botters out of my tradeskill compared to the others. I wish tradeskilling was deadly once again!

Re: How much dough you bringing home?
Scholars made a killing, espeically those who were first and were willing to whore themselves out to anyone to make ad3s.
My alchy had 25pp worth of sales over 3 days just on poisons and potions along with a couple ring adornments for 2pp each.
I think those who do best are the ones who make consumables, food & drink, potions & poisons etc... so long as they keep up with what's going on with the broker and are willing to keep up with making the stuff to put on there.

Re: How much dough you bringing home?
i made a killing as a sage. i was the first sage to 80 (on nek, not ww) and basically as soon as i dinged i had all the books so i just advertised lfw etc and i went through three sections of a five star notebook in 3 days. it was crazy profitable. still is decent cash, but i havent /lfw in a few weeks. just have some people that send me mo's etc. but i'm sure you can still make some really nice cash for sure

Re: How much dough you bringing home?
Alchemy has been a good steady little bit of income for me this expansion. I managed to be the 5th 80 alchy on my server and despite having to buy all the books (lvl 23 toon) for 2-10 plat ive made it all back and then some. Some ppl are cheap asses and some tip well. Ive been lucky and did some rush orders for a few MT guards that paid me about 1pp/spell (good tippers get free stacks of agi pots included complemetary hehe - word of mouth is a wonderful thing).
Im mainly an alchy as a dust harvester for my raid swash cos she chews through pots like crazy. When i log in in the morning i spend about 5 mins crafting and throw up about 2 plat profits of pots. For me the trick with the alchy is to know what pots are in demand and also priced reasonably high. Just takes a min on broker search to see what to make on any given day really. Also, like another posted said, im not above buying out the undercutters and adding it to my stock - just means less crafting and more profit as these items have a pretty high turnover and prices can fluctuate a fair bit.
Adorns also can be good business if you know what to make and check broker as to current price. Average 1-10 plat profit each on them depending (after subtracting market values of muting mats). Overall ive made a good wack of cash since 70-80 - enough to get my main a aa mirror and have 40 plat leftover with 400 dusts in the bank :D
On the other hand, my carpenter is a big money sink - but i like making house stuff so one pays for the other.
